Casino app bonus types

Every kind of casino app offer explained in plain English, with worked values and the closest real offers from UK-licensed apps.

Casino app bonus types at a glance

A casino app bonus is an extra you get for depositing or playing, paid as spins, bonus cash or money back, always with conditions attached. Every offer in a UK app is the same one the operator runs on its website, because the app is just another way into the same account. What changes on a phone is how you claim it: an opt-in button on the promotions tab, a message in the in-app inbox, or a tick box in the cashier before you confirm a deposit.

The guides below this section each cover one type of offer in depth. This table shows how the main families differ, so you can jump to the one that matches what you are looking for.

How to use the bonus guides on this page

The cards are grouped by what drives the offer: the number of spins, the deposit size, the payment method you plan to use, the game you prefer, and ongoing promotions for existing customers. Each guide explains how that kind of offer usually works in the UK, works through the maths in pounds, and then says honestly whether any app we list offers it. Where none does, the guide says so and points to the nearest real alternative instead of stretching the facts.

A sensible route is to pick the card closest to your search, read its worked example, then check the terms page before you tap deposit. The bonus terms guide is useful if a phrase in the small print is new to you.

UK rules that shape every casino app bonus

Since 19 January 2026, wagering on a casino bonus in Great Britain can be no more than 10 times the bonus. The same rule change banned promotions that mix products, so an app can no longer ask you to bet on football to unlock casino spins. Older articles describing 35x or 50x targets are out of date. Our guide to UK casino app rules covers the full set of changes.

  • Every offer is for adults aged 18 and over, and terms apply to all of them.
  • Slot stakes are capped at £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 a spin for those aged 18 to 24, bonus or not.
  • Credit cards cannot be used to gamble, so offers that require a deposit need a debit card or another eligible method.
  • Many offers exclude certain payment methods, often e-wallets and prepaid cards, so check before choosing how to pay.

Bonuses are a marketing cost for the casino, not a way to make money. The house edge still applies to every spin you play with them.

How to judge whether a mobile casino offer is good value

Turn every offer into pounds before comparing. Fifty spins at 10p each are worth £5 of play, not fifty pounds of anything. A 100% match on a £25 deposit adds £25 of bonus cash, but with a 10x wagering requirement you must stake £250 before that bonus and its winnings can be withdrawn. Spins with no wagering usually give less face value, yet whatever they return is paid as cash.

  1. Work out the face value: number of spins multiplied by the spin value, or the match percentage applied to your planned deposit.
  2. Check the wagering multiple and what it applies to, the bonus alone or bonus plus deposit.
  3. Note the deadlines: time to accept, time to use and time to complete wagering.
  4. Look for a maximum bet while the bonus is active and any cap on winnings.
  5. Confirm that the payment method you want to use qualifies.

Our explainer on wagering requirements in casino apps walks through longer examples, and no wagering casino apps collects offers paid without any playthrough.

The welcome offers from apps we list

We promote five UKGC-licensed apps, and each one runs the same welcome offer in its app as on its website. None of them offers a no-deposit bonus and none needs a promo code. All offers are 18+ and terms apply.

  • Coral Casino: new players who deposit and bet £10 or more on slots get 100 spins on selected games at 10p each, to accept within 48 hours and use within 7 days. No wagering on spin winnings. Some deposit types, including PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards, do not qualify.
  • Ladbrokes Casino: new customers who deposit and spend £10 or more on slots get 50 spins a day for 10 days, up to 500 in total, at 10p each. Each day's spins are claimed from the in-app inbox before 23:59 and last 7 days, with no wagering. Certain deposit methods are excluded.
  • PlayOJO: new UK customers (not Northern Ireland) get 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each with a first deposit of at least £10. Winnings are paid as cash with no wagering.
  • Casumo: opt in for a 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of £20 or more. Wager the bonus 10x within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet while it is active.
  • 10bet Casino: choose the casino welcome bonus at sign-up and deposit within 7 days for a 100% match up to £25. Wager it 10x on slots within 3 days; bonus winnings are capped at £1,000.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most common type of casino app bonus in the UK?

Spins handed out after a qualifying deposit or bet are the most common welcome offer in UK casino apps. Typically you deposit, stake £10 on slots and receive a batch of spins valued at 10p each on selected games. Matched deposit bonuses are the other main type, adding bonus cash in proportion to your first deposit. Both carry conditions, and every offer is for adults aged 18 and over. Compare the families side by side on our casino app bonuses page before choosing which suits the way you play.

Are casino app bonuses different from website bonuses?

For most licensed operators, no: the offer in the app matches the one on the website because both use the same account. The five apps we list each confirm the same welcome offer across app and site. Occasionally an operator runs a promotion advertised only to app users, such as a push notification campaign, but the terms page still governs it. If you see a different headline in the App Store listing than on the site, trust the current terms inside the app. Our page on app-exclusive casino bonuses looks at this in more detail.

What is the maximum wagering requirement allowed in the UK?

Ten times the bonus amount is the most a UK casino can now ask you to wager. The Gambling Commission cap took effect on 19 January 2026, so a £20 bonus can require no more than £200 of stakes before it converts to withdrawable cash. Some offers set lower multiples, and spins paid as cash have none at all. Anything advertising 30x or more is either outdated or not aimed at players in Great Britain. See 10x wagering casino apps for worked examples.

Can I claim a casino app bonus with PayPal or an e-wallet?

Sometimes, but many welcome offers exclude e-wallets, so always check before you deposit. Among the apps we list, Coral and Ladbrokes both exclude PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards from their spins offers, while Casumo states that payment restrictions apply to its matched bonus. A debit card is the method most often accepted for welcome deals. Our guide to payment method exclusions lists the usual exceptions and explains why operators add them to bonus terms.

Do I need a promo code to get a casino app bonus?

Usually not, and none of the five apps we list needs a code for its welcome offer. Most UK operators now attach the offer to your account automatically or ask you to opt in with a button or tick box during registration or your first deposit. Where a code is required, it is shown on the promotions page inside the app. Be wary of websites promising secret codes that unlock larger amounts. Our page on casino app promo codes explains how codes work today.

Why have my bonus spins not appeared in the app?

The most common reasons are an unsettled qualifying bet, an excluded payment method or a missed opt-in. Spins offers often credit only once your qualifying stake has been fully played, and some must be accepted from the inbox or promotions tab within a set window, such as 48 hours. Close and reopen the app, check the inbox, then confirm your deposit method was eligible. If everything looks correct, contact support through live chat. Our help article on free spins not showing covers each fix in turn.

Are bonus winnings taxed in the UK?

No. Gambling winnings, including anything you keep from a bonus or spins, are not taxed for players in the UK. The operator pays duty on its own profits, not on what you withdraw. What does affect your payout is the bonus terms: wagering must be complete, any cap on winnings applies, and a withdrawal usually cancels an active bonus. Read the cap before you start so the final figure is not a surprise. Our explainer on withdrawing bonus winnings shows how the order of steps matters.
