Casino app bonus terms explained simply: they are the conditions that decide who can claim an offer, what you must do to trigger it, how winnings are treated and when it expires. This guide takes each clause in turn, uses the real terms of Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet as examples, and shows how to read them on a phone screen.
Casino app bonus terms explained: the six kinds of clause
Bonus terms can run to dozens of numbered points, but almost every clause falls into one of six groups. Knowing the groups makes the document quicker to scan on a phone, because you know what you are looking for.

Since January 2026 the Gambling Commission’s rules on rewards and bonuses have been rewritten to make clear what operators must show before you sign up. In practice, the key terms should be visible on the offer itself, with the full set one tap away.
Eligibility terms: who can claim
Eligibility clauses limit an offer to certain customers. Every UK offer is for adults aged 18 or over. Welcome offers are for new customers only, which normally means no previous account with that brand, and sometimes with sister brands. Some exclude regions: PlayOJO’s 80 spins, for example, are for new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland.
Many terms also limit offers to one per person, household, device or payment method. That matters on shared phones and tablets; see casino apps on shared family devices. An operator can withhold an offer from accounts flagged by safer gambling or affordability checks, which is part of its legal duty rather than a penalty.
Qualifying deposits, bets and excluded payment methods
The qualifying action is what triggers the offer. It may be a deposit alone (PlayOJO: first deposit of £10 or more; Casumo: £20 or more after opting in), a deposit plus a bet (Coral: bet £10 on slots), or a selection at sign-up (10bet: choose the casino welcome bonus and deposit within 7 days).
Payment exclusions sit alongside the qualifying action and are the single most common reason a bonus fails to appear.

Credit cards cannot be used to gamble in Great Britain at all, including through Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal funded by a credit card. Our page on payment method exclusions explains why e-wallets are so often left out.
Value terms: match percentages, caps and spin values
Value clauses state what you receive. For a matched deposit they give a percentage and a cap: Casumo’s 50% up to £100 means a £200 deposit earns the full £100, and anything above £200 earns nothing extra. 10bet’s 100% up to £25 reaches its cap at a £25 deposit.
For spins, the number and the value per spin matter. Coral’s 100 spins at 10p are worth £10 in stakes; Ladbrokes’ up to 500 at 10p are worth up to £50 over 10 days; PlayOJO’s 80 at 10p are worth £8. The spin value is fixed, so you cannot raise the stake on bonus spins.
Wagering terms: multiple, base, weighting and deadline
Wagering clauses are now simpler than they were, because the multiple cannot exceed 10x. Four details still decide how demanding they are:
Multiple: up to 10x. Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO spin winnings have none.
Base: bonus only (Casumo and 10bet) or deposit plus bonus.
Game weighting: 10bet’s bonus is wagered on slots; other games may count less or not at all.
Restriction terms: max bets, eligible games and win caps
Restrictions apply while a bonus or wagering is active. The max bet rule is the most important: Casumo’s is £5 per bet with an active bonus. It sits on top of the legal slot limits of £5 a spin for over-25s and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds.
Eligible-game clauses say where spins or bonus funds can be used: ‘selected games’ for Coral and Ladbrokes spins, Big Bass Bonanza for PlayOJO. Win caps limit what a bonus can pay out; 10bet’s welcome bonus caps bonus winnings at £1,000. Bonus buy is not available in Great Britain, so no term can permit it.
Timing terms: accept-by, valid-for and daily claims
Timing clauses come in several forms, and one offer can have more than one. Coral’s spins must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days. Ladbrokes’ 50 daily spins must be claimed from the in-app inbox before 23:59 each day and used within 7 days. Casumo’s bonus must be wagered within 7 days, and 10bet’s within 3 days of a first deposit made within 7 days of sign-up.
Short deadlines are worth treating with suspicion, not because they are unfair but because they push you to play on someone else’s timetable. The bonus expiry glossary entry explains what happens to balances when time runs out.

How to read bonus terms properly on a phone
Terms on a small screen are easy to skim past. A simple routine helps:
Open the offer in the app’s promotions tab and tap the full terms link, not just the summary.
Turn the phone to landscape if tables are cramped, or use the browser’s reader view if the terms open in a web page.
Use Find on Page (Safari’s share sheet) or Find in page (Chrome’s menu) to search for ‘wager’, ‘max’, ‘exclud’, ‘valid’ and ‘selected’.
Note the qualifying action, deadline and max bet in your phone’s notes app.
Screenshot the key terms and the date, in case the offer changes or you need to raise a query.
Only then opt in or deposit.
When a bonus term is applied unfairly
If you think an operator has applied a term wrongly, for example removing winnings for a breach you did not commit, start with its complaints process, which every UK licensee must have. If it is not resolved within eight weeks, or you receive a final response you disagree with, you can take it to the operator’s approved ADR provider, which is free to use. Our guide on how to complain about a casino app explains each step, and understanding casino app terms and conditions covers the account terms beyond bonuses.
Three offers that show the main term types

These three show the main term structures side by side: Coral’s no-wagering spins with payment exclusions, Casumo’s 10x match with a £5 max bet, and 10bet’s 10x match with a 3-day limit and a winnings cap. 18+, terms apply.

Frequently asked questions
What are the most important casino app bonus terms?
The qualifying action, excluded payment methods, wagering, maximum bet and deadline. Together these decide whether you get the bonus and whether you can realistically withdraw anything from it. Of these, payment exclusions cause the most failed claims, and deadlines cause the most lost bonuses. Read them before opting in or depositing, not after. Our casino app checklist before you deposit puts these checks in order alongside the account and licence checks.
What does ‘selected games’ mean in bonus terms?
It means the spins or bonus funds can only be used on games the operator has named for that offer. Coral and Ladbrokes give their welcome spins on selected games, while PlayOJO names one game, Big Bass Bonanza. The list is normally shown when the spins are credited or in the offer terms. Playing other games will use your cash balance instead. Our guide on finding games in a casino app shows how to search for a named game quickly.
Why was my bonus removed for breaking the terms?
The usual causes are staking above the maximum bet, playing an excluded game while wagering, using an excluded payment method, or holding more than one account. Operators must apply terms fairly and as written, so ask support which clause they relied on and when the breach happened. If you disagree with the answer, use the operator’s complaints process and then its ADR provider. Our max bet rules on casino apps guide covers the most common breach.
Can a casino change bonus terms after I claim?
Operators generally cannot apply less favourable terms retrospectively to an offer you have already claimed; the terms in force when you opted in should apply. They can change or withdraw offers for future claims. Take a screenshot of the terms with the date when you opt in, so you have a record if a dispute arises. If an operator does change terms against you, complain and, if needed, use ADR. Our page on how to complain about a casino app explains the process.
Do bonus terms differ between the app and the website?
For our five partners, no: each runs the same welcome offer with the same terms in the app and on its website. The app and website share one account, so a bonus claimed in one shows in the other. Where any operator runs an app-only promotion, its terms will say so explicitly. The display can differ, with apps often showing a short summary and a link to the full terms. For more on app-only claims, see app exclusive casino bonuses.
What is a winnings cap in bonus terms?
A winnings cap limits how much you can withdraw from bonus play, regardless of what the bonus actually wins. 10bet’s welcome bonus, for example, caps bonus winnings at £1,000; anything above that from bonus play is removed when the bonus converts. Caps are less common on no-wagering spins, but check for words like ‘maximum’ in the terms. A slot’s own max win is a separate limit set by the game. Our max win glossary entry explains the difference.
Do I have to accept bonus terms to play in an app?
No. Bonuses are optional, and you can play with your own cash balance without accepting any offer. Some offers are opt-in, like Casumo’s; others apply when you meet the qualifying action, like Coral’s, but still need you to accept the spins. If you would rather not have a bonus, do not opt in, or ask support to remove one before you play. Our guide on how to opt in to a casino bonus shows where the controls are.
Why do bonus terms mention 18+ so often?
Because UK law and advertising rules require it. Gambling is only legal for adults, operators must verify age before any play, including demo games, and advertising codes require offers to make the age limit clear. Repeating 18+ next to an offer is part of presenting it responsibly, not a formality. If you are worried that someone under 18 is using a casino app, the operator must be told. The checks themselves are described in how casino apps check your age.
Are casino bonus terms regulated in the UK?
Yes. The Gambling Commission’s licence conditions require bonus terms to be clear and fair, cap wagering at 10x since 19 January 2026, and ban offers that combine two types of gambling. Consumer law also requires terms to be transparent and not unfairly weighted against you. The advertising codes require key conditions to be shown with the offer. Our guide to UK casino app rule changes in 2026 summarises the bonus changes.
