A matched deposit is a casino bonus worked out as a percentage of the money you pay in, up to a maximum. With a 100% match up to £25, depositing £25 adds £25 of bonus funds; with a 50% match up to £100, depositing £200 adds £100. The bonus then has to be wagered, at most 10x in the UK, before it can be withdrawn.
Bonus = deposit × match percentage, until you hit the cap.
Depositing more than the amount that unlocks the cap adds no extra bonus.
UK matched bonuses carry no more than 10x wagering since 19 January 2026.
Opt-in steps, payment exclusions, deadlines and a max bet rule usually apply.

What a matched deposit bonus means
The casino “matches” part or all of your deposit with bonus funds. The headline has two numbers: a percentage and a cap. “100% up to £25” means the casino adds £1 of bonus for every £1 deposited until the bonus reaches £25. “50% up to £100” means 50p for every £1, until the bonus reaches £100.
Matched deposits are the most common format for casino app welcome bonuses, and many operators use them for reload offers too. The bonus normally sits in a separate balance from your cash, and how the two interact depends on whether the offer is sticky or non-sticky.
Matched deposit maths: percentage, cap and the sweet spot
The amount that unlocks the full cap is the cap divided by the match percentage. For 100% up to £25, that is £25. For 50% up to £100, it is £200. Paying in more doesn’t increase the bonus.

The sweet spot is a guide, not a target. Only deposit what fits your budget; a smaller deposit with a smaller bonus is perfectly sensible. Note that 10bet doesn’t publish a minimum deposit in the facts we hold, so check its cashier for the lowest amount it accepts.
Wagering on a matched deposit bonus
Both partner offers apply 10x wagering to the bonus amount. On 10bet’s full £25 bonus that is £250 of slot bets within 3 days, and bonus winnings are capped at £1,000. On Casumo’s full £100 bonus it is £1,000 of bets within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet while the bonus is active and game, play and payment restrictions applying.
A useful check is the theoretical cost: wagering × house edge. On slots returning 96%, £250 of wagering costs about £10 on average and £1,000 about £40. Short-term results vary widely either side. If the theoretical cost is a big share of the bonus, or the deadline is tight for how often you play, a smaller bonus or a no-wagering offer may suit you better. The wagering requirement entry explains the calculation and game weighting covers games that count at less than 100%.
How to claim a matched deposit in an app
Before registering, read the offer terms on the casino’s promotions page in the app, especially the minimum deposit and excluded payment methods.
During sign-up, select the casino welcome bonus if offered a choice (10bet asks for this), or opt in on the offer card afterwards (Casumo requires an opt-in).
Complete any verification the app asks for. UK operators must confirm your age and identity before you can deposit.
Open the cashier, choose a qualifying debit card or other allowed method, and enter your deposit. 10bet’s offer needs the first deposit within 7 days of sign-up.
Check the bonus area to confirm the match has been credited, note the wagering deadline, and set a reminder on your phone if useful.
Payment method rules catch out many people claiming a match. Operators often exclude certain e-wallets or prepaid cards from welcome offers, and Casumo’s terms say payment restrictions apply. Credit cards can’t be used to gamble in Great Britain at all, including through Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal funded by a credit card.
Debit cards are the usual choice for qualifying, although some offers elsewhere exclude certain debit cards too, so always read the list in the terms first. The payment method exclusions page sets out which methods each partner offer leaves out, and debit card casino app bonuses explains how card deposits qualify.
Matched deposit or free spins?
A matched deposit gives more flexibility: bonus funds can usually be used across a range of games, at a stake you choose within the max bet. Free spins are fixed at a value, often 10p, on named slots, but on several UK welcome offers their winnings carry no wagering. Which is better depends on how you play. Someone making a single £10 deposit gets more certainty from wager-free spins; someone who plans to deposit £100 and play across a week may prefer a match. The free spins vs matched bonus apps comparison sets the two side by side.

Frequently asked questions
What does matched deposit mean?
Matched deposit means the casino adds bonus funds equal to a percentage of your deposit, up to a set maximum. A 100% match doubles your deposit up to the cap, so £25 deposited becomes £25 cash plus £25 bonus. A 50% match adds half, so £200 deposited brings £100 of bonus. The bonus usually needs wagering before it can be withdrawn, and in the UK that can’t exceed 10x. Our matched deposit bonus apps page compares current offers and their full key terms.
How much should I deposit to get the full match?
Divide the cap by the match percentage. For 100% up to £25 you need £25, and for 50% up to £100 you need £200. Depositing more than that adds no further bonus, though the extra cash is still yours to play with or withdraw. Treat the figure as a ceiling rather than a target and only pay in an amount that fits your budget. A deposit limit, set in the app’s account settings before you start, keeps that decision in place. The casino app limits guide shows where to find it.
Is a 100% match better than a 50% match?
Not automatically. A 100% match gives more bonus per pound, but the cap, wagering, deadline and max bet matter just as much. 10bet’s 100% match tops out at £25, while Casumo’s 50% match goes up to £100 on a £200 deposit. Both use 10x wagering, but 10bet allows 3 days on slots and Casumo 7 days. Choose the offer whose size and timescale fit how much and how often you play. The 100% casino app bonus page goes deeper into the higher match.
Can I withdraw a matched deposit bonus?
Only after meeting the wagering requirement, and only if the offer is non-sticky. Until wagering is complete, the bonus and winnings made with it are usually locked. Your own deposit can normally be withdrawn at any time at a UK-licensed casino, but doing so typically forfeits the bonus. Some offers also cap the amount you can win from the bonus; 10bet’s, for example, caps bonus winnings at £1,000. The casino app bonus withdrawal page explains the order in which balances are paid out.
Why didn’t my matched deposit bonus appear?
The usual reasons are a missed opt-in or bonus selection, a deposit below the minimum, a payment method excluded by the terms, or a deposit made after the qualifying window, such as 10bet’s 7 days from sign-up. Check the promotions area, then your transaction history to confirm the method and amount. If everything looks right, contact live chat with the time of the deposit. A bonus generally can’t be added if the conditions weren’t met. The free spins not showing page lists similar checks.
Do matched deposit bonuses work the same in the app and on the website?
Yes, for the partners we cover. A casino app is a front end to the same account as the website, so the balance, bonus and wagering progress are shared, and each partner’s welcome offer is the same in the app and online. You can opt in on your phone and play on a laptop, or the other way round. Rare app-only promotions do exist elsewhere, but the terms will say so.
