A matched deposit bonus adds a percentage of what you deposit as bonus funds. Casumo’s match is 50%, which is lower than the 100% matches some casinos advertise, but the ceiling of £100 is higher than many, and the 10x wagering is the maximum allowed in Great Britain since 19 January 2026 rather than the much higher multiples that were common before then.

How to claim the Casumo welcome bonus in the app, step by step

The whole process happens inside the Casumo app, which you can get from the App Store or Google Play (see how to download the Casumo casino app). Allow ten to fifteen minutes for the first time, mostly for registration and checks.

1. Open the app and tap Join. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your ID and bank account, because mismatches are a common cause of delays later.
2. Complete the age and identity checks the app asks for. You can’t play or deposit until your age is verified.
3. Before depositing, open the welcome offer in the app and read the full terms, including any payment methods that don’t qualify.
4. Go to the cashier and choose a payment method that the terms allow. Enter £20 or more; £200 unlocks the full £100.
5. Make sure the welcome bonus is selected or opted into on the deposit screen, then confirm the deposit with Face ID, your banking app or your card details.
6. Check your balance: the cash and bonus should appear separately. The bonus area of the app shows how much wagering is left and when it expires.
7. Play eligible games within 7 days, keeping each bet at £5 or less.

What the 50% bonus is worth: the maths

Two numbers matter: how much bonus you get, and how much you have to bet to release it. The wagering requirement applies to the bonus only, not your deposit, which keeps the totals smaller than older offers.

A worked example

Say you deposit £50 and receive £25 of bonus. You need £250 of qualifying bets within 7 days. At £1 a spin that’s 250 spins; with UK rules requiring at least 2.5 seconds per slot spin, that’s a minimum of around ten and a half minutes of spinning, though real sessions take far longer.

Now the cost. On a slot with a return to player of 96%, £250 of bets loses about £10 on average over a very large number of spins. That’s an average, not a forecast: any single session can finish well above or well below it, and many end with the bonus lost entirely. On paper, then, a £25 bonus with roughly £10 of expected cost leaves around £15 of theoretical value. Lower-RTP games, or games that count less towards wagering, eat into that quickly.

Over £200, the offer stops growing: depositing £300 still gives £100. There’s no reason to deposit more than you’d be comfortable losing just to chase the cap.

The £5 max bet and UK stake limits

While a bonus is active, Casumo caps each bet at £5. Breaking a max bet rule is one of the most common reasons bonus winnings are removed, and on a phone it’s easy to do by accident when a game remembers a higher stake from a previous session.

Separately, the law caps online slot stakes at £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 a spin for players aged 18 to 24. If you’re under 25, your slot spins are limited to £2 regardless of the bonus. Table games aren’t covered by the slot limits, so the £5 bonus cap is the one to watch there, and some table games may not count towards wagering at all.

Payment methods and the welcome bonus

Casumo lists Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, PayPal, Trustly, Paysafecard, Skrill and Instant Banking as deposit methods, with a £10 minimum for normal deposits. The welcome offer is stricter: £20 minimum, and its terms say payment method restrictions apply. Casumo’s homepage doesn’t list which methods are excluded, so read the bonus terms in the app before choosing.

Across the UK market, e-wallets and prepaid vouchers are the methods most often excluded from welcome offers, while debit cards are the least often excluded. That’s a general pattern, not a statement of Casumo’s current list. Credit cards can’t be used for gambling in Great Britain, including through Apple Pay or PayPal funded by a credit card. Make sure the card behind your digital wallet is a debit card.

Which games count towards the wagering

The offer terms say game restrictions apply. In practice, UK casinos usually count most slots in full towards wagering, while table games, live dealer games and some high-RTP slots may count partly or not at all. This is called game weighting. Check the list of excluded or reduced games in the bonus terms before you start, because bets on a game that counts 0% use up your 7 days without reducing the wagering.

On a phone, the easiest way to keep track is the bonus progress indicator in your account area. If the wagering total doesn’t move after a few spins on a game, stop and check whether that game qualifies.

Common mistakes that cost people the bonus

1. Depositing less than £20 because the cashier allows £10 deposits.
2. Forgetting to opt in before confirming the first deposit.
3. Using a payment method the bonus terms exclude.
4. Placing a bet above £5, often because a game remembered an old stake.
5. Playing excluded games and assuming they count.
6. Running out of the 7-day window; the clock starts when the bonus is credited, not when you first play.
7. Opening a second account to claim the offer again, which breaks the terms.

Withdrawing after the bonus

Once wagering is complete, any remaining bonus balance converts according to the terms and can be withdrawn like normal cash. Before that point, check the terms for what happens if you request a withdrawal: at many casinos it cancels the active bonus.
