10x wagering casino apps

10x wagering casino apps are UK apps whose bonuses must be staked no more than ten times before winnings can be withdrawn, which since 19 January 2026 means every licensed app in Great Britain. Casumo and 10bet are our partners with 10x matched bonuses. This page explains the rule, the maths of a 10x bonus and how it plays out on your phone.

Key takeaways

  • The Gambling Commission capped bonus wagering at 10x from 19 January 2026; before that, 35x to 50x was common.
  • 10x the bonus on a £10 bonus means £100 of stakes before bonus winnings can be withdrawn.
  • On a 96% RTP slot, clearing £100 of wagering costs about £4 on average, so a £10 bonus is worth nearer £6 in the long run.
  • Casumo applies 10x within 7 days with a £5 max bet; 10bet applies 10x on slots within 3 days with £1,000 max bonus winnings.

The 10x wagering cap for UK casino apps

In March 2025 the Gambling Commission announced that bonus wagering requirements would be limited to ten times, and the change took effect on 19 January 2026. Its announcement used the example of a £10 bonus with 50x wagering, which needed £500 of play before winnings could be withdrawn; under the new rule that bonus could require no more than £100. The Commission said high wagering could confuse consumers and lead them to gamble for longer and faster than they otherwise would.

The same package banned promotions that require two or more types of gambling, such as a sports bet to unlock casino spins, and rewrote the code on rewards and bonuses to make the Commission’s expectations clearer. The rule applies to every operator licensed in Great Britain, so it covers apps and websites alike. The page on UK casino app rule changes in 2026 lists the other changes that arrived at the same time.

£25£875£1,250£250
£50£1,750£2,500£500
£100£3,500£5,000£1,000

If you read an older review or a forum post quoting 35x or 40x for a UK casino, it describes the rules before 2026. A UK app showing more than 10x today should be queried with support; anything advertised to UK players by an unlicensed site should be avoided altogether. See are casino apps legal in the UK for how to check a licence.

How 10x wagering is calculated

The multiple is applied to a base amount, and the base is what you need to check. ‘10x the bonus’ is the common form and the one both of our wagered partners use. A ‘10x deposit plus bonus’ structure would double the total on a 100% match. Every stake counts towards the total whether it wins or loses, so £100 of wagering might be 500 spins at 20p, regardless of what those spins return.

  • Bonus £10, 10x bonus → £100 of stakes.
  • Bonus £25, 10x bonus → £250 of stakes (10bet’s maximum).
  • Bonus £100, 10x bonus → £1,000 of stakes (Casumo’s maximum).
  • Game weighting at 50% → each £1 staked counts as 50p, so £100 of wagering needs £200 of stakes.

Weighting is the hidden multiplier. If you plan to play a game that counts at less than 100%, the effective wagering rises. The game weighting entry explains how operators set it.

What 10x wagering costs on average

Each pound you stake on a slot loses a small amount on average, set by the house edge (100% minus the RTP). Multiply that by the wagering total and you get the average cost of clearing the bonus.

BonusWageringAverage cost at 96% RTPAverage cost at 94% RTPBonus left on average (96%)
£10£100£4£6About £6
£25£250£10£15About £15
£50£500£20£30About £30
£100£1,000£40£60About £60

These are long-run averages. In a single attempt, many players lose the bonus before finishing the wagering, and a few finish well ahead. The figures also leave out your own deposit, which is staked at the same odds. The point is not that a bonus pays; it is that 10x leaves a meaningful share of the bonus intact on average, whereas 50x would usually have consumed it. Casinos often run lower RTP versions of slots, which is why the 94% column matters; our guide to finding a slot’s RTP in an app shows where to check.

Casumo’s 10x bonus on a phone

Casumo offers 50% up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20. You opt in, deposit, and wager the bonus 10x within 7 days, with no single bet above £5 while the bonus is active. Game, play and payment restrictions apply. Casumo’s iPhone app is a combined casino and sports app; on Android the listing is casino-focused. Its iOS listing mentions Face ID and Touch ID login, quick launch of the last four slots played and Apple Pay, which make it straightforward to return to the same game over several short sessions. Read the Casumo app welcome offer page for the opt-in steps.

10bet’s 10x bonus on a phone

10bet matches 100% of a first deposit up to £25. You select the casino welcome bonus during registration, deposit within 7 days, and wager the bonus 10x on slots within 3 days. Bonus winnings are capped at £1,000. 10bet’s app combines sport and casino in one, so choose the casino bonus rather than any sports option, and play in the casino section. Because the window is 3 days, the £250 total on a full bonus works out at about £83 of slot stakes a day. See the 10bet app welcome offer page for details.

How a 10x bonus turns into cash inside the app

Most apps keep cash and bonus in separate balances while wagering is in progress. The usual sequence looks like this:

  1. Your deposit lands in the cash balance and the bonus in a bonus balance.
  2. Stakes usually come from cash first, then from bonus funds; the terms set the order.
  3. Each eligible stake reduces the ‘remaining to wager’ figure, shown under the bonus or promotions menu.
  4. Winnings made with bonus funds stay locked while wagering is outstanding.
  5. When the remaining figure reaches zero, the bonus balance converts to cash, subject to any winnings cap.
  6. You can then withdraw, once verified, using a method in your name.

If the deadline passes first, the bonus and its winnings are removed and any remaining cash stays. Our guide on how to track wagering in an app shows typical progress screens, and withdrawing casino app bonus winnings covers the final step.

Does the 10x cap apply to free spins?

The cap is on bonus wagering, and spins whose winnings are paid as bonus funds fall within it. Many UK spin offers now avoid wagering altogether. At our partners, Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO pay spin winnings with no wagering, so the cap is not relevant to them. If you see a spins offer elsewhere with wagering on winnings, it should not exceed 10x. Our no wagering free spins apps page compares the zero-wagering options.

Six questions to ask of any 10x offer

  1. Is the 10x on the bonus only, or on deposit plus bonus?
  2. How many days do I have, and does the clock start at deposit or at opt-in?
  3. Which games count, and at what weighting?
  4. What is the maximum bet while the bonus is active?
  5. Is there a cap on winnings from the bonus?
  6. Which payment methods are excluded from qualifying?

If any answer is missing from the offer page, the full terms will have it. Our casino app bonus terms guide explains each clause.

A bonus is never a reason to deposit more than you planned. Set a deposit limit in the app first; it applies to the whole account, app and website alike.

Frequently asked questions

Are all UK casino apps 10x wagering now?

All bonuses from UK-licensed casinos must have wagering of 10x or less since 19 January 2026, whether claimed in an app or on a website. Many offers go lower, and no-wagering spins are common. So ‘10x’ is the ceiling rather than a standard. A UK app showing a higher multiple should be queried with support. Offers from unlicensed sites are not covered and should be avoided. Our low wagering casino apps page compares offers below and at the cap.

How much do I need to bet with 10x wagering?

Ten times the amount the multiple applies to, usually the bonus. A £10 bonus needs £100 of stakes, a £25 bonus £250 and a £100 bonus £1,000. If weighting counts a game at 50%, the stakes needed on that game double. Wins and losses both count towards the total, so the figure is about how much you stake, not how much you win. Our wagering requirements in casino apps guide has more worked examples.

When did the 10x wagering cap start?

On 19 January 2026. The Gambling Commission announced the change in March 2025, originally for December 2025, and later confirmed the January date. The same set of changes banned promotions that combine two types of gambling, such as betting on sport to unlock casino spins, and clarified the rules on how bonus terms are presented. For a summary of everything that changed for app users, read UK casino app rule changes in 2026.

Does 10x wagering apply to my deposit too?

It depends on the offer. Both of our wagered partners, Casumo and 10bet, apply 10x to the bonus only. Some casinos use a deposit-plus-bonus base, which doubles the stakes needed on a 100% match. The terms will say which applies; look for phrases like ‘10x the bonus amount’ or ‘10x deposit and bonus’. If the wording is unclear, ask support before you deposit. Our matched deposit bonus apps page explains the common structures.

Is a 10x bonus worth taking?

It can be, if the deposit fits your budget and the time limit fits your normal play. On a 96% RTP slot, clearing £100 of wagering costs about £4 on average, so a £10 bonus is worth nearer £6 in the long run, though individual results vary. Your own deposit is still staked at normal odds and losses are likely over time. If the deadline would push you to play longer, skip it. Our free spins vs matched bonus apps comparison helps choose.

Can I play live casino to clear 10x wagering?

Usually only at a reduced rate, if at all. Many casinos weight live and table games below slots, and 10bet’s offer is specifically wagered on slots. Casumo’s terms include game restrictions, so check its weighting list before playing anything other than slots. Playing a game that does not count can mean your stakes do not reduce the wagering total. Reading weighting tables on a phone is covered in game weighting in casino apps.

What is the maximum bet with a 10x bonus?

It is set by each offer. Casumo caps bets at £5 while a bonus is active; other operators may set lower limits. Separately, UK law limits online slot stakes to £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, whether or not a bonus is active. Breaking an offer’s max bet rule can lead to bonus winnings being removed. To find the limit in an app, see max bet rules on casino apps.

What happens to winnings above 10bet’s £1,000 cap?

Under 10bet’s welcome terms, winnings from the bonus are capped at £1,000, so any amount above that from bonus play is removed when the bonus converts to cash. Winnings made purely with your own cash balance are not affected by a bonus cap, though the order in which balances are used decides which is which. Read the balance rules in 10bet’s terms before playing. Our 10bet app welcome offer page covers the cap and the 3-day window.
