What counts as low wagering in UK casino apps now

A wagering requirement is the amount you must stake before bonus winnings can be withdrawn, written as a multiple of the bonus. Before 2026, 30x to 50x was routine. The Gambling Commission’s new rules cap wagering at 10x from 19 January 2026, so a figure that would once have been low is now the maximum.

That changes how to judge ‘low wagering’. Within the cap, look at three things: whether the multiple applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus, how long you have to meet it, and the rules that slow you down, such as game weighting and maximum bets. Two 10x offers can be very different once those are taken into account.

Casumo: 10x on a larger bonus with 7 days and a £5 bet cap

Casumo gives 50% of a first deposit up to £100, with a £20 minimum. Opt in, deposit, then wager the bonus 10x within 7 days, staking no more than £5 per bet while the bonus is active. Game, play and payment restrictions apply, so check which games count.

The bottom row is the full bonus, but £1,000 of stakes in a week is a lot of play for most people. Choosing the deposit you were already comfortable with, and accepting a smaller bonus, keeps the wagering in proportion. Casumo’s iOS listing mentions Face ID login and quick launch of recent slots, which are useful for tracking a bonus over several short sessions.

Why the deadline matters as much as the multiple

UK slot rules set a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin and ban autoplay, so wagering takes real time. The table converts wagering into minimum spinning time at different stakes, before any pauses.

Raising your stake to clear wagering faster also raises how much you can lose in that time. If the only way to meet a deadline is to play longer or bigger than you would without the bonus, the offer is not low wagering for you. Game weighting and max bet rules that slow wagering

Not every game counts equally. Slots usually count in full; table games, live casino and some high-RTP slots may count partly or not at all. 10bet’s offer is wagered on slots; Casumo’s terms list game restrictions. Playing an excluded game while wagering can mean your stakes do not count, or in some terms that winnings are removed.

How to track wagering progress on your phone

Most apps show a progress bar or a ‘remaining to wager’ figure under the account, bonus or promotions menu. Check it after each session rather than during play. Mistakes that turn low wagering into high cost

• Depositing more to get a bigger bonus, which raises the wagering in pounds even though the multiple stays at 10x.
• Withdrawing cash mid-wagering, which can forfeit the bonus under some terms.

• Treating wagering as a target to hit rather than a condition you may decide to abandon.

Walking away from a bonus is always allowed. If wagering starts to feel like an obligation, forfeit the bonus and keep any cash balance.
