Casino app payment methods

Every way to pay into and withdraw from a UK casino app, including which methods welcome offers exclude.

Casino app payment methods: how paying on a phone works

Every UK casino app has a cashier, usually reached by tapping your balance or a plus button at the top of the screen. From there you choose a method, enter an amount and confirm, often with Face ID, a fingerprint or your banking app. Withdrawals go through the same cashier, but usually only back to a method you have already used to deposit, a rule known as closed-loop payments.

The method you choose affects more than convenience. It decides how quickly a withdrawal arrives once approved, whether a welcome offer applies, and whether a payment shows up on your bank statement as gambling. Credit cards cannot be used at all: they have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, including when they sit behind Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal.

Choosing a payment guide from the list

Each guide below covers one method in a casino app: how it works on a phone, the steps to deposit and withdraw, typical limits and speeds, fees, security and which partner welcome offers exclude it. Speeds are given as typical ranges, never promises, because every operator reviews withdrawals before releasing money. Separate full guides cover PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and debit cards.

This table shows which methods the apps we list publish for deposits, taken from their help centres or, where noted on the method pages, third-party reviews. If a cell says check the cashier, the method may still be available, but we could not confirm it. Coral and Ladbrokes also limit UK customers to three active payment methods in any rolling 30-day period, and their paysafecard option links to a paysafecard account rather than accepting vouchers.

Withdrawal speeds, limits and fees

A withdrawal has two stages: the operator's internal approval, then the time your payment provider takes. Coral and Ladbrokes publish a typical approval of a couple of hours for Visa Fast Funds, followed by up to about four hours to reach the bank, while their Fast Bank Transfer takes two to four business days after approval. Casumo states that PayPal, Apple Pay, Skrill and Neteller withdrawals are paid instantly after approval, cards in up to two days and bank transfers in up to five. 10bet lists up to two business days for cards and e-wallets.

  • Coral and Ladbrokes say they charge no withdrawal fees and cap single UK deposits at £2,000.
  • Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals below £10, with no fee at £10 or more, and sets a £10 minimum deposit.
  • A first withdrawal can take longer if identity documents are needed; see verification in casino apps.
  • Since 31 October 2021 UK casinos cannot let you reverse a withdrawal to keep playing.

Bank holidays and weekends can stretch bank transfer times, because the clock usually counts business days. If a withdrawal is still pending after the operator's published window, check the app's inbox for a document request before contacting support.

Payment methods and welcome offers

Many welcome offers exclude certain methods, most often e-wallets and prepaid cards. Coral's spins offer excludes Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards; Ladbrokes excludes prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits. Casumo says payment restrictions apply to its matched bonus. If an offer matters to you, check the terms before your first deposit, because a deposit with an excluded method usually cannot be switched afterwards. Our payment method exclusions guide collects the common rules. All offers are 18+ and terms apply.

Keeping payments safe and under control

  1. Set a deposit limit in the app's safer gambling or account settings before your first deposit.
  2. Use biometric confirmation, such as Face ID with Apple Pay, so nobody else can pay from your phone.
  3. Keep your withdrawal method the same as your deposit method to avoid delays.
  4. Consider a gambling block in your banking app if you want an extra barrier; bank gambling blocks explains how they work.

Monzo, Starling and Revolut all have in-app gambling block settings, and their pages in this section explain how those interact with casino deposits. Never deposit money you need for bills, and if gambling is causing money worries the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to withdraw from a casino app?

E-wallets and card methods that use fast payment networks are usually quickest once the operator has approved the request. Coral and Ladbrokes publish a typical approval of a couple of hours for Visa Fast Funds, then up to about four hours to reach your bank. Casumo says PayPal, Apple Pay, Skrill and Neteller withdrawals arrive instantly after approval. Times vary, and a first withdrawal may wait for verification. Our instant withdrawal casino apps page explains what instant really means.

Can I use a credit card in a UK casino app?

No. Credit cards have been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, and the ban also covers e-wallets and mobile wallets funded by a credit card. If your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet has a credit card set as default, the deposit will be declined; switch to a debit card first. The rule exists to stop people gambling with borrowed money. Our debit card casino apps guide covers the accepted alternatives.

Why was my casino app deposit declined?

The most common reasons are a gambling block on your bank account, a deposit limit you have reached, an unverified account, or a card the operator does not accept. Check your banking app for a gambling block or fraud alert first, then look at the limits in the casino app's account settings. A mismatch between the cardholder name and the account name also causes declines. If none of those apply, contact support. Our help article on declined deposits lists further causes.

Do casino apps charge fees for deposits or withdrawals?

Most do not, but some apply small fees in particular cases. Coral and Ladbrokes state that they charge no withdrawal fees, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals below £10. Your bank or e-wallet may add its own charges, for example for currency conversion. 10bet does not publish a fee policy, so check its cashier. Always read the cashier screen before confirming, as it shows any fee. Our minimum withdrawal article explains how fees relate to small payouts.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

Usually not straight away. UK operators follow closed-loop rules, which means winnings normally go back to the method you deposited with, up to the amount deposited, to reduce fraud and money laundering. If that method cannot receive payouts, for example some prepaid cards, the app will offer an alternative such as a bank transfer after checks. Changing method may require new verification. Our guide to changing your withdrawal method walks through the steps.

Which payment methods exclude me from a welcome bonus?

E-wallets and prepaid cards are the most common exclusions. For the apps we list, Coral and Ladbrokes exclude PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafe and prepaid cards from their spins offers, and Coral also excludes certain debit cards. Casumo states that payment restrictions apply to its matched bonus. A standard debit card is the method most likely to qualify. Check the full terms in the app before depositing, because the method you use first usually decides eligibility. All offers are 18+ and terms apply.
