UK casino brands and their apps
Factual profiles of UK casino brands and their apps: who runs them, how to check the licence and what to look for before you install.
UK casino brands and their apps: what these profiles cover
The UK has dozens of well-known casino brands, and most of them now offer an app for iPhone and Android alongside a mobile website. Each profile below answers the same practical questions: which company runs the brand, which Gambling Commission licence it trades under, what its app is and how to make sure the download in front of you is genuine. The profiles are factual and neutral. We do not score these brands or describe their current welcome offers.
A brand name on a sign or a shirt sponsorship tells you little about who actually holds the licence. Several familiar names share one parent company, and some are run under licence by a different business altogether. That matters when you set limits or self-exclude, because tools sometimes apply across every brand on a shared platform.
How to use the brand A–Z
The cards below are listed alphabetically. Each profile follows the same order: who runs the brand, its licence details where they could be confirmed, the products it covers, what its app offers, the safer gambling tools available and a closing section comparing alternatives. Where a detail could not be verified, the profile says so and tells you where to look rather than guessing.
If you are choosing between apps rather than researching one name, the casino app reviews and the app finder are quicker starting points.
A–Z of casino brands
How to check any casino brand and its app
Before installing any casino app, confirm three things: the licence is current, the app's developer matches the licence holder or its group, and the app came from an official store. Apple allows real-money gambling apps on the UK App Store only from licensed operators, and Google Play allows them in Great Britain only from licensed operators it has approved, so a store download is the safer route.
- Scroll to the footer of the brand's website and note the company name and Gambling Commission account number.
- Search that number on the Gambling Commission public register and check the licence is active and covers remote casino.
- Open the App Store or Google Play listing and compare the seller or developer name with the licence holder.
- Avoid APK files from websites or links in messages; our guide to spotting fake casino apps shows the warning signs.
Our walkthrough on how to check a casino licence has screenshots of each register page described in words, and the guide to checking an app developer covers store listings.
Who runs the UK casino apps we list
For comparison, here are the licence holders behind the five apps we promote, as shown on the Gambling Commission register. Coral and Ladbrokes share a licence because both belong to Entain.
| Brand | Licence holder | UKGC account | App on iPhone and Android |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coral Casino | LC International Limited | 54743 | Yes, a dedicated casino app |
| Ladbrokes Casino | LC International Limited | 54743 | Yes, a dedicated casino app |
| PlayOJO | Skill On Net Limited | 39326 | Yes, casino only |
| Casumo | Recro Limited | 61549 | Yes, casino and sports in one app on iPhone |
| 10bet | Blue Star Planet Limited | 43173 | Yes, combined sports and casino app |
Each of these has a full review, for example the Ladbrokes app and PlayOJO app pages, and a page on whether the app is safe, such as is the Casumo app safe.
The rules every licensed brand follows
Whatever the logo, a UK-licensed casino app works under the same rulebook. Wagering on bonuses is capped at 10x from 19 January 2026, slot stakes are limited to £5 a spin for adults aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, credit cards cannot be used, and feature buys are not offered to players in Great Britain. Every licensed brand must offer deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, and must take part in GAMSTOP, the national self-exclusion scheme.
That shared baseline is why differences between brands tend to show up in the details: the app's design, payment methods, support hours and how clearly terms are written. Our guide to what makes a good casino app explains which differences are worth weighing. Gambling should always be treated as paid entertainment; losses are the likely outcome over time on any brand.
- App type: some brands offer a dedicated casino app, others fold casino games into a sportsbook app, and a few rely on the mobile website alone.
- Payment methods: e-wallets, Apple Pay, Google Pay and pay by bank are common but never universal, and minimum withdrawals vary.
- Support hours: 24-hour live chat is not standard; some brands answer only during the day or by email.
- Safer gambling tools: every licensed brand has the basics, but where the tools sit in the app, and how many taps they take, differs a lot.
- Store listing details: the seller name, age rating, privacy label and minimum iOS version are all public before you install.
Reading a profile alongside the store listing usually answers most practical questions in a couple of minutes, without creating an account first.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a casino brand is licensed in the UK?
Search the brand or its operating company on the Gambling Commission public register. The company name and account number should appear in the footer of the brand's website and in its terms. On the register, check that the licence status is active and that remote casino is among the activities covered. A brand that shows no UK account number, or one you cannot match, should be avoided. Our step-by-step guide on how to check a casino licence explains what each part of the register entry means.
Why do some casino brands share the same company?
Large gambling groups often run several brands from one licence and one technology platform. Coral and Ladbrokes, for instance, are both operated by LC International Limited under UKGC account 54743 as part of Entain. Shared ownership can mean similar app layouts, help centres and payment rules. It can also mean that a self-exclusion with one brand covers sister brands, so check the terms. Our Coral vs Ladbrokes comparison shows how two related apps still differ in the details.
Is a casino app safer than the brand's website?
Neither is inherently safer when both come from a licensed operator, because the app and the site connect to the same account with the same protections. An app installed from the App Store or Google Play has one extra layer: the store requires real-money gambling apps to come from licensed operators. Apps also tend to support Face ID or fingerprint login. The risk lies in unofficial downloads, which can be fake. Our guide to casino app safety covers both routes in more depth.
Can I have accounts with several casino brands?
Yes, it is legal to hold accounts with more than one UK-licensed brand, and many people have an app from two or three. Each brand runs its own verification, limits and bonuses, so a deposit limit set in one app does not carry over to another unless they share a platform. If you want to stop gambling everywhere at once, GAMSTOP blocks all UK-licensed online brands together. Our help page on having more than one casino app explains what to watch for.
Why do your brand profiles not show welcome offers?
The profiles are neutral fact files about brands we do not work with, so we leave out their offers rather than risk printing terms that change without notice. Offers we promote come only from the five apps we list, and their terms are checked and dated. If you want to compare welcome deals, our casino app bonuses page sets them out with the key conditions. For any other brand, open its promotions page inside the app and read the full terms before you deposit.
What should I do if a brand's app is not on the App Store?
Use the brand's mobile website instead of searching for the app elsewhere. A missing listing can mean the operator only builds for one platform, has withdrawn the app, or is not approved in the UK storefront. Do not install APK files from third-party sites or links sent by message, because fake gambling apps exist. You can add the mobile site to your home screen for app-like access. Our guide on app versus mobile site compares the two experiences.
