Pay by bank casino apps let you deposit straight from your current account: the cashier hands you over to your banking app, you approve with Face ID or a fingerprint, and the money arrives without you typing in card details. Coral and Ladbrokes list Pay by Bank through TrueLayer from £5, and Casumo lists Trustly and Instant Banking.
It runs on open banking: you approve each payment in your own bank's app, and no card number is shared.
The published minimum is £5 at Coral and Ladbrokes, while Casumo sets £10 for every method.
Neither Coral's nor Ladbrokes' welcome terms name Pay by Bank as excluded, but read the terms on the day.
Bank payouts are usually slower than the deposit: Coral and Ladbrokes quote 2–4 business days for Fast Bank Transfer.

What pay by bank means in a casino app
Pay by bank is a deposit option built on open banking. Instead of entering a card, you choose your bank from a list. A regulated payment provider then asks your bank to send a payment, and you approve it inside your banking app. The money travels as an instant bank payment rather than a card transaction.
Casino cashiers label it differently. You might see Pay by Bank, Instant Banking, Bank Transfer or a provider name such as Trustly. Coral's and Ladbrokes' help centres describe their version as Pay by Bank through TrueLayer. Casumo lists both Trustly and Instant Banking. Whatever the label, two things identify it: you pick a bank, and you finish the payment in that bank's own app or website.
This is not the old-style manual bank transfer, where you copied a sort code and reference. That slower method is covered on our bank transfer casino apps page, and Trustly specifically has its own guide to Trustly casino apps.
How the app-to-app hand-off works on iPhone and Android
On a phone, pay by bank depends on one app opening another. The casino app passes you to the provider's screen, the provider opens your banking app, and after approval your bank sends you back. When everything is installed and up to date, this takes a few taps. When something isn't, you get a browser login instead.

How to deposit with pay by bank, step by step
In the casino app, tap Deposit and choose Pay by Bank, Instant Banking or Trustly.
Type the amount. At Coral and Ladbrokes the minimum is £5 and the maximum per deposit is £2,000; Casumo's minimum is £10.
Pick your bank from the list. Search by name if it isn't shown.
Read the consent screen, which names the casino or its payment provider, the amount and the account it will come from, then tap to continue.
Your banking app opens. Sign in with biometrics and approve the payment.
Wait for the bank's confirmation and tap the button to return to the casino app.
Check that the casino balance has updated and that the payment shows in your bank app.
If the casino balance doesn't change after a few minutes, don't pay again straight away. Check the banking app first: if the money left, contact casino support with the time and amount. A repeated attempt can mean two deposits.

How casino payouts reach your current account
Deposits by pay by bank are usually instant, but withdrawals are a separate process. The casino has to approve the request, which can include ID checks, and then send the money to your account. Both Entain brands say their review comes first and that payout timeframes are added on top, from instant to five banking days depending on method. Their Fast Bank Transfer, a withdrawal-only option, is quoted at 2–4 business days once approved.
Casumo quotes up to 5 days for bank payouts, and 10bet up to 3 business days. These are published estimates, not promises. Weekends and bank holidays slow bank payments down. Under closed-loop rules, the casino will pay back to the account you deposited from where it can, so the bank account must be in your name. Our step-by-step guide on how to withdraw from casino apps covers what to expect at each stage.
Minimums, maximums and fees for bank payments
Minimum deposit: £5 for Pay by Bank at Coral and Ladbrokes, £10 for every method at Casumo. 10bet and PlayOJO don't publish a figure, so check the cashier. See low deposit casino apps for more on small first payments.
Maximum deposit: £2,000 per deposit for UK customers at Coral and Ladbrokes. Your bank may also cap single payments.
Casino fees: Coral and Ladbrokes say they don't charge withdrawal fees. Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. 10bet's fee position isn't published.
Bank fees: UK personal accounts don't normally charge for sending instant payments, but check your own account terms.
Your own limits: a deposit limit set in the app applies to bank payments exactly as it does to cards.
Is pay by bank safe in a casino app?
In several ways, pay by bank is more private than a card. The casino never receives a card number, so there's nothing to store or leak. Each payment is approved inside your bank's own app with your bank's security. Payment initiation providers must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to operate in the UK. You give consent one payment at a time, so the casino can't take more without you.
The trade-off is that bank payments don't carry card chargeback rights in the same way. If you send money to the wrong place, getting it back is harder. That's one more reason to deposit only through a licensed app downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and listed on the UKGC register. Never approve a bank payment for a casino you reached through a message, a social media advert, or a link you weren't expecting.
Casino welcome offers and pay by bank deposits
Neither Coral nor Ladbrokes names pay by bank among the methods excluded from its welcome offer. That makes it a sensible way to make a qualifying deposit if you prefer not to use a card. Both offers are for over-18s, and terms apply.
Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10 on slots for 50 free spins a day over your first 10 days (up to 500), 10p each, claimed from the app inbox before 23:59 each day, valid 7 days, no wagering.
Coral: deposit and bet £10 on slots for 100 free spins on selected games, 10p each, accepted within 48 hours and valid 7 days, no wagering on winnings. Coral says certain deposit types are excluded, so read the full list.
Casumo: 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, opt-in required, 10x wagering within 7 days, max £5 per bet while the bonus is active.

Bank gambling blocks and pay by bank
Most bank gambling blocks were designed around card payments, which carry a merchant code that marks them as gambling. Open banking payments don't carry that same card code, so whether your block stops them depends on your bank. Starling, for example, says its block covers card payments to most gambling merchants but may not catch every gambling payment. If you rely on a block to protect yourself, ask your bank whether it covers open banking payments, and add GAMSTOP too. Our bank gambling blocks guide compares the options.

Frequently asked questions
What is pay by bank at a casino?
It's a way to deposit straight from your current account using open banking. You choose your bank in the casino cashier, approve the payment in your banking app with Face ID, a fingerprint or a passcode, and the money arrives as an instant bank payment. No card number is shared with the casino. Labels include Pay by Bank, Instant Banking and Trustly. Our open banking glossary entry explains the technology behind it.
Which UK casino apps accept pay by bank?
Among the apps we work with, Coral and Ladbrokes list Pay by Bank through TrueLayer, and Casumo lists Trustly and Instant Banking. A third-party review lists Trustly at 10bet, but 10bet's own help centre doesn't name its methods, so check the cashier. PlayOJO doesn't publish a method list we could verify. Availability can change, so look at the deposit screen before relying on it. Our bank transfer casino apps page covers bank payments more broadly.
Is pay by bank safe for gambling?
With a UK-licensed casino app, yes, and in some ways it's safer than a card. You approve every payment inside your own bank's app, the casino never sees a card number, and payment initiation providers must be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. The main caution is that bank payments are harder to reverse than card payments, so only use pay by bank in apps you can find on the UKGC register.
What is the minimum pay by bank deposit?
It's £5 at Coral and Ladbrokes, and Casumo states £10 for every method. 10bet and PlayOJO don't publish a pay by bank minimum, so the cashier is the place to check. Remember that welcome offers often need more than the minimum: Coral and Ladbrokes ask you to bet £10 on slots, PlayOJO needs £10 and Casumo £20. All offers are 18+, and terms apply. See our minimum deposit entry for more.
How long do pay by bank withdrawals take?
Usually a few working days, though it varies by casino. At Coral and Ladbrokes, the quoted time is 2–4 business days for Fast Bank Transfer once the withdrawal is approved, with approval time on top. Casumo quotes up to 5 days for bank payouts and 10bet up to 3 business days. These are estimates, and weekends slow bank payments down. A first withdrawal is slower if ID still needs checking. Our withdrawal pending guide explains the review stage.
Does pay by bank qualify for casino bonuses?
At Coral and Ladbrokes, Pay by Bank isn't among the methods their welcome terms name as excluded, which makes it a sensible qualifying option. Coral also says certain deposit types are excluded, so read its full list before depositing. Casumo's offer has payment restrictions that our summary doesn't itemise. All offers are for new customers aged 18+, and terms apply. Our payment method exclusions page shows every partner's list in one place.
Why does pay by bank open my browser instead of my bank app?
Usually because the banking app isn't installed, needs updating, or your phone isn't set to open the bank's links in its app. On iPhone, reinstalling or updating the bank app normally fixes it. On Android, check the bank app's default-link settings under Apps. You can also finish the payment in the browser by logging in to online banking, though it takes longer. Our casino app troubleshooting guide covers other hand-off problems.
Can a bank gambling block stop pay by bank deposits?
Sometimes, but not always. Most bank gambling blocks work on card payments, which carry a merchant code marking them as gambling. Open banking payments travel differently, so coverage depends on your bank. Starling, for example, says its block covers card payments to most gambling merchants but may not catch everything. If you depend on a block, ask your bank directly and combine it with GAMSTOP. Our GAMSTOP entry explains how self-exclusion covers every licensed site.
