Bonus expiry on casino apps means the deadlines attached to an offer: how long you have to claim it, to use any spins, and to complete any wagering before it is removed. Most offers carry more than one clock, measured in hours or days. Miss one and the unused part disappears, though your own deposited money stays yours.
Many offers run two or three separate clocks: a claim window, a validity period and a wagering deadline.
When a bonus expires, unused spins, bonus funds and any winnings still tied to wagering are removed; your own cash is not.
Coral gives 48 hours to accept its spins and 7 days to use them; Ladbrokes spins must be claimed daily before 23:59.
If a deadline would push you to play more than you planned, letting the bonus lapse is a perfectly sensible choice.

The separate clocks behind bonus expiry on casino apps
‘Expiry’ on an offer is rarely one date. Reading the full terms of a typical UK welcome offer, you usually find several different time limits, each starting at a different moment:
Qualifying window: how long after registering you have to make the qualifying deposit or bet. Miss it and the offer never starts.
Claim or accept window: once the reward is credited, how long you have to accept it, often from a pop-up or the in-app inbox.
Validity period: how long accepted spins or bonus funds remain usable.
Wagering deadline: for bonuses with a wagering requirement, how long you have to finish it before the bonus and its winnings are removed.
The glossary entry for bonus expiry gives the short version. The detail below shows how each clock looks on a phone and how the partner offers set them.

Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ windows are about using spins, not about wagering, because winnings from those spins carry no wagering. Casumo’s and 10bet’s deadlines are wagering deadlines, which take more planning. The Ladbrokes app welcome offer and Coral app welcome offer pages hold the full terms.
Daily claim deadlines: the Ladbrokes example step by step
A daily-drop offer gives you a fresh claim deadline every day. Ladbrokes’ published structure is 50 spins a day for the first 10 days after qualifying, each day’s batch claimed from the in-app inbox before 23:59. In practice the routine on a phone looks like this:
Open the Ladbrokes Casino app and log in, with Face ID or a fingerprint if you have set that up.
Tap the inbox or messages icon; the day’s spins appear as a message with a claim button.
Tap to claim before 23:59. Unclaimed spins for that day are lost; they do not roll over.
Open one of the selected games named in the message. The spins are set at 10p each, so there is no stake to choose.
Use the claimed batch within its 7-day validity. Winnings go to your balance without wagering.
Ten daily claims is a lot of app-opening. Skipping days you do not want to play is fine; you simply receive fewer spins. Our daily free spins apps page compares other daily formats.

Your money cannot be taken because a bonus lapses
The order in which an app spends real and bonus money affects how much is at stake when the clock runs out. Some apps use your deposit first and only then the bonus; others mix the two. The terms explain which, and the bonus panel in My Account usually shows the split. The casino app bonus withdrawal page goes further into how bonus money becomes cash.
Where an app shows how long a bonus has left
Apps differ, but the time remaining usually appears in one of these places:
My Account, Bonuses or My Offers: a list of active bonuses with an expiry date, time or countdown.
The wagering meter: often a progress bar with ‘expires in X days’ beneath it.
The inbox: claim-style rewards show their deadline in the message text.
The game itself: when you open a game with spins waiting, a pop-up may show spins left and the expiry date.
Push notifications: some apps send reminders before an offer lapses, if you have allowed notifications.
If no clock is shown anywhere, use the terms: work out the start point (when the bonus was credited or accepted), add the stated period, and note the exact time. Ask live chat to confirm if you are unsure whether ‘7 days’ means 168 hours or until midnight on day seven.
Tracking expiry on your phone without letting it drive your play
A deadline can nudge people to play when they otherwise would not. The healthiest approach is to decide in advance how much time and money you will give the offer, then use your phone to remind you, not to push you.
Add one calendar event for the expiry date when you accept a bonus. A single reminder is enough.
Use casino app notifications settings to allow account messages but mute marketing, so you see claim reminders without extra promotions.
Set a reality check so the app tells you how long a session has run.
If you reach the end of your budget with a bonus still active, stop. An expired bonus costs nothing extra; chasing one can.
If deadlines are making you play more often than you want, a time-out or deposit limit can be set in the app’s safer gambling settings. See how to take a time-out on a casino app.
Can a wagering deadline realistically be met?
Work this out before you opt in. The amount to stake is the bonus multiplied by the wagering, and the number of spins follows from your stake per spin. UK rules require at least 2.5 seconds per slot spin, so there is a minimum playing time too.
Bonus
Wagering to complete
Deadline
Spins at £1
Minimum spinning time
10bet: £25 bonus on a £25 deposit
£250
3 days
250
About 10.5 minutes
Casumo: £100 bonus on a £200 deposit
£1,000
7 days
1,000
About 42 minutes
Those are minimums on spin timing alone; features, loading and breaks add more. If the time needed is more than you would choose to play anyway, take a smaller bonus or none. On average, wagering costs money: at 96% RTP, £1,000 of stakes loses about £40, and the real result can be much better or much worse.
Withdrawing before a bonus expires
Requesting a withdrawal while a wagered bonus is still active often forfeits the bonus and anything won with it, which is effectively an early expiry. Many apps show a warning before you confirm. If you would rather have your cash now, that can be a reasonable choice, but read the warning carefully. No-wagering spin winnings are different: they are already cash and can be withdrawn whenever you like, subject to verification. See how to withdraw from casino apps for the general process.
If a bonus expired early or never showed a clock
Screenshot the bonus panel, inbox message or terms showing the dates you were given.
Contact live chat and ask for the exact credited time and expiry time from their records.
If the app’s clock and the terms disagree, ask which applies and request a written answer.
If you are not satisfied, ask for a final response, then use the operator’s ADR service as described in how to complain about a casino app.
A bonus that never started a clock may never have been credited, often because of an excluded deposit method. Check casino app free spins not showing for the usual causes.
Offers with short, clearly stated deadlines
The three offers below publish their windows plainly: daily claims for Ladbrokes, 48 hours plus 7 days for Coral, and 7 days of 10x wagering for Casumo. Each is from a UKGC-licensed app, for new customers aged 18 or over, with terms applying.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
How long do casino app bonuses last?
Most UK casino app bonuses last a matter of days rather than weeks. Free spins are commonly valid for around 7 days once credited, claim windows can be as short as 48 hours or a single day, and wagering deadlines vary from a few days upwards depending on the casino. The exact figures are in each offer’s terms and usually also in the bonus panel inside the app. Our casino app bonus terms page explains how to read them.
What happens to my winnings if a bonus expires?
It depends on whether the winnings were still tied to wagering. Winnings from no-wagering spins are cash as soon as they land and stay in your balance after the spins expire. Winnings made from bonus funds that still had wagering outstanding are usually removed along with the bonus. Your own deposited money is never removed because a bonus lapses. The no wagering vs wagered bonuses guide explains the difference in more detail.
Do unused free spins carry over to the next day?
Usually not. Daily spin offers normally give each day its own claim deadline, and unclaimed spins for that day are lost rather than added to the next. Ladbrokes, for example, asks you to claim each day’s 50 spins from the inbox before 23:59. Once claimed, a batch has its own validity period, which for Ladbrokes is 7 days. Missing a day simply means fewer spins in total. 18+ and terms apply. See Ladbrokes app promotions for its other offers.
Can I extend a bonus expiry date?
Generally no. Expiry periods are part of the offer’s terms, and support teams are not usually able to extend them. There can be exceptions where a technical fault stopped you using a bonus, such as spins that never appeared or a game that would not load. In that case, contact live chat promptly, explain what happened and keep screenshots. If a fault was the cause, the casino may reinstate the bonus. See casino app games won’t load for common fixes.
Where do I see when my bonus expires in the app?
Look in My Account under Bonuses, My Offers or Promotions, where active bonuses usually list an expiry date or countdown. Claim-based rewards show their deadline in the inbox message, and opening a game with spins waiting may show the expiry in a pop-up. If you cannot find a date, the terms state the period and when it starts, and live chat can confirm the exact time. For wagering progress, see how to track wagering in an app.
Does withdrawing cancel my bonus?
With a wagered bonus, it often does. Many casinos treat a withdrawal request made before wagering is complete as forfeiting the bonus and any winnings made with it, and the app usually warns you first. Your deposited cash can still be withdrawn. No-wagering spin winnings are already cash, so withdrawing them does not cancel anything. Reverse withdrawals have been banned since 31 October 2021, so once requested you cannot cancel a withdrawal to keep playing. More on this in withdrawing casino app bonus winnings.
How long do I have to use Coral’s free spins?
Coral’s published terms give you 48 hours to accept the 100 free spins once they are awarded, and the spins are then valid for 7 days. To qualify, a new customer aged 18 or over deposits (certain payment types are excluded) and bets £10 or more on slots. The spins are worth 10p each on selected games, and there is no wagering on free spin winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify. More on the Coral app welcome offer page.
Is a short bonus expiry a bad sign?
Not necessarily. A short window is common on free spins and is not a problem if the stake and spin count are small and there is no wagering. It becomes more of a concern when a large wagering requirement has to be completed in a short time, because that can mean long sessions or higher stakes. The 10x cap introduced on 19 January 2026 limits how much wagering can be asked. If a deadline feels tight for your budget, skip the offer. Our casino app red flags guide lists warning signs.
Do loyalty points and cashback expire too?
Often yes, though on different timetables from welcome bonuses. Loyalty currencies, reward coins and cashback credits commonly have their own expiry periods, which may be weeks or months, and some lapse if you do not log in for a while. Each scheme publishes its rules in the app’s rewards or promotions section. Check them before saving points up for a long time. Our casino app loyalty rewards page compares how the main schemes work.
