£1 deposit casino apps are rare in the UK, and none of the five licensed apps we work with accepts a £1 deposit. The lowest published minimum among them is £5, at Coral and Ladbrokes with Google Pay or Pay by Bank, and every partner welcome offer needs at least £10. This page explains why, and what you can do instead.
None of our five partner apps takes a £1 deposit; the lowest published minimum is £5 at Coral and Ladbrokes for some methods.
£1 buys ten 10p spins, about 25 seconds of play under the 2.5-second spin rule.
Small balances can be hard to withdraw: minimums and fees can exceed what you have left.
Coral and Ladbrokes apps include free-to-play games, and demo play is available after age verification.

Do £1 deposit casino apps exist in the UK?
A small number of UK-licensed casinos have advertised £1 minimum deposits over the years, usually through one specific payment method. They are the exception. Across the mainstream apps, minimums of £5 or £10 are normal, and welcome offers almost always start at £10 or more. None of the apps we work with accepts £1.
If you are searching for a £1 deposit app because you want to keep spending very low, that is a sensible aim, and there are better tools for it than a tiny deposit: a deposit limit, low stakes, and free-to-play games. If you want a bonus for £1, there isn’t one among the licensed apps we cover, and offers that promise a lot for £1 deserve extra scrutiny. The low deposit casino apps page covers the wider range of small-deposit options.

Why £1 deposits are so rare on UK casino apps
Every deposit costs the casino money to process. Card schemes, open banking providers and e-wallets charge fees, some of them a fixed amount per transaction, which can wipe out a £1 payment entirely. Each new account also carries the cost of age and identity checks, which UK operators must complete before you can play.
There are regulatory reasons too. Operators must monitor customers for signs of harm and run anti-money-laundering checks, and very frequent tiny deposits are a pattern they are expected to notice. Raising the minimum to £5 or £10 reduces the number of transactions without asking much of a customer. None of this means a £1 deposit is unsafe; it just explains why the big brands don’t offer it.
What £1 would actually buy you in a casino app
UK design rules set each slot spin at a minimum of 2.5 seconds, and table and live game rounds at a minimum of 5 seconds. That makes the arithmetic of a £1 balance short.

Low-stake games exist; the penny slots apps page lists how to find slots that start at 10p or below. Even so, £1 gives very little room for a game’s volatility to play out, and most sessions will end in a few seconds.
The withdrawal problem with very small balances
Suppose a £1 deposit grew to £4. Getting it out could be harder than putting it in. The two Entain brands publish a £5 minimum withdrawal for Fast Bank Transfer and Google Pay. Casumo charges a £3 fee on withdrawals below £10, which would take most of a £4 balance. Other operators may have minimums that a tiny balance can’t reach.
Closed-loop rules also mean a withdrawal normally goes back to the method you deposited with, and you may need to pass identity checks before the first payout. The minimum withdrawal page compares the published figures.
Ways to play in a casino app without depositing
If the goal is to try an app cheaply, some options cost nothing at all.
Coral’s app store listing mentions free-to-play games with real-money prizes.
Ladbrokes’ listing mentions free-to-play options such as Instant Spins, a daily prize wheel and game show contests.
Demo versions of many slots let you play with virtual credit, but only after the app has verified your age, a rule in place since May 2019. See demo mode verification.
Free casino-style apps with no real-money play exist on both stores; the free casino apps page explains how they differ from gambling apps.
Free-to-play prize games have their own terms, and availability changes, so read them in the app. None of them is a no-deposit bonus, and none of our partners offers one.
How to check a £1 deposit casino before signing up
If you find another casino advertising £1 deposits, run these checks first. They take a few minutes on your phone.
Scroll to the bottom of the casino’s website and note the company name and UKGC account number.
Search that number on the Gambling Commission’s public register and check the licence is active and covers remote casino.
In the App Store or Google Play, open the app listing and confirm the developer or seller matches the licence holder.
Read the deposit terms: which method allows £1, and whether that method also allows withdrawals.
Find the minimum withdrawal and any fees on small withdrawals.
Check whether any bonus advertised for £1 has wagering above 10x, which would breach UK rules since 19 January 2026.
Moving from £1 to £5 or £10 without losing control
If the reason you looked for a £1 deposit is to keep spending tight, you can get the same effect at any casino with a deposit limit. Set it before the first deposit. A daily limit of £5 means the app will refuse anything beyond that, no matter how quick Apple Pay or Google Pay makes topping up. Decreases take effect immediately; increases have a cooling-off delay.
Combine the limit with reality-check reminders and keep your stake at the lowest level a game allows. The deposit limit entry and the gambling budget guide show how to set both up.
Why the closest welcome offers need £10
None of the apps we work with has an offer for £1, so the nearest options are those with the lowest trigger and the simplest terms. Coral gives 100 spins at 10p after you deposit and bet £10 on slots. Ladbrokes gives 50 spins a day for 10 days, up to 500, after a £10 slots spend, claimed daily from the inbox. PlayOJO gives 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza for a £10 first deposit. None of these puts wagering on spin winnings.
That is ten times a £1 deposit, so only consider it if £10 fits your entertainment budget. The £10 deposit casino apps page explains what that £10 buys at each one.
Where to play with a small deposit

Frequently asked questions
Can I deposit £1 at a UK casino app?
Only at a small number of operators, and not at any of the five apps we work with. Coral and Ladbrokes publish a £5 minimum for Google Pay and Pay by Bank, Casumo’s minimum is £10, and PlayOJO and 10bet show their minimums in the cashier. Where £1 deposits do exist, they are usually limited to one payment method. Check the operator’s licence on the Gambling Commission register before signing up. See low deposit casino apps for more.
Is there a £1 deposit bonus on casino apps?
Not at any of the licensed apps we cover. Their welcome offers start at £10: Coral and Ladbrokes give spins when you stake £10 on slots, and PlayOJO gives 80 spins for a £10 first deposit. Some other sites have promoted £1 offers, but they tend to come with small values or strict withdrawal terms. Since 19 January 2026 no UK bonus can carry wagering above 10x. The no deposit casino apps page explains related offers. 18+, T&Cs apply.
Why do casino apps have minimum deposits?
Mainly because each payment costs money to process, and a fixed fee per transaction can exceed a very small deposit. Casinos also carry the cost of identity checks for each account and have to monitor deposit patterns for anti-money-laundering and safer gambling purposes. Setting minimums of £5 or £10 keeps those costs and checks manageable. The minimum can vary by method, which is why each app’s cashier shows it per method. Our minimum deposit entry has more.
What is the lowest deposit at Coral or Ladbrokes?
Both publish a £5 minimum for Google Pay and Pay by Bank. For other methods, their help centres say the minimum is displayed in the cashier, so open the deposit screen and choose your method to see it. The maximum per deposit is £2,000 in the UK. A £5 deposit doesn’t trigger the welcome spins, which need £10 staked on slots. The Coral deposits page walks through the cashier screens.
Can I withdraw a small win from a £1 deposit?
Possibly not, because withdrawal minimums and fees can exceed a small balance. At Coral and Ladbrokes the published minimum is £5 for Fast Bank Transfer and Google Pay, while Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. You may also need to complete verification before a first withdrawal. Check the published minimum before you deposit anywhere, so a small win isn’t left stranded. The minimum withdrawal help page compares the figures we have verified.
Are £1 deposit casinos safe?
A low deposit doesn’t make a casino more or less safe; the licence does. A site licensed by the UK Gambling Commission must verify your age, protect your funds as stated in its terms, offer safer gambling tools and use an approved dispute service. Check the account number on the public register and make sure any app is published by the licence holder. Unlicensed sites aimed at UK players are a real risk. See how to spot fake casino apps.
Can I play casino games in an app for free?
Yes, in two ways. Demo modes let you play many slots with virtual credit once the app has verified your age, as required since May 2019. Some apps also run free-to-play prize games: Coral’s store listing mentions free-to-play games with real-money prizes, and Ladbrokes mentions Instant Spins and a daily prize wheel. Terms for these games apply and availability can change. Our free casino apps page explains the difference between demo and social apps.
How long does £1 last on a slot?
At a 10p stake, £1 is ten spins, and since each spin must take at least 2.5 seconds under UK rules, that is around 25 seconds before any wins are added back. At 20p it is five spins. Wins extend the session, but losses over time are the likely outcome because of the house edge. If you want longer sessions on a small budget, lower stakes and a deposit limit help more than a smaller deposit. See penny slots apps for low-stake games.
Is a deposit limit better than a £1 deposit for keeping spending low?
For most people, yes. A £1 deposit only limits one payment; nothing stops you making another a minute later. A deposit limit, set in the app’s safer gambling menu, blocks any deposit beyond your chosen daily, weekly or monthly amount. Lowering a limit is immediate, while raising one involves a cooling-off delay. Reality checks and time-outs add further brakes. The casino app limits guide shows where each setting lives.
