Reactoonz app play is about as phone-friendly as slots get: Play’n GO’s 7 × 7 alien grid is square, so it fills a portrait screen with no wasted space. Wins come from clusters of five or more matching symbols, the published RTP is 96.51%, volatility is high and the top prize is 4,570 times your stake.
Clusters of five or more touching symbols pay, then drop away for new ones.
Winning clusters charge Gargantoon, who unlocks a chain of grid-changing features.
RTP 96.51% and high volatility; the max win is 4,570× stake (£914 at 20p).
In UK apps, stakes are capped at £5 (£2 for 18–24s) and there is no autoplay.

Why the Reactoonz app layout suits a phone
Most slots are wider than they are tall, which is why so many play better sideways. Reactoonz is a perfect square of 49 positions, so in portrait it stretches edge to edge across the screen with the controls tucked underneath. You get large, readable symbols without turning the phone, and one thumb can reach everything.
Landscape still works, but the square grid then sits in the middle with empty space either side, so the symbols end up smaller than in portrait on most handsets. This is one of the few games where upright is usually the better choice; our guide to portrait vs landscape mobile slots explains why the shape of the grid matters.

How cluster pays work in Reactoonz
There are no paylines. A win forms when five or more identical aliens touch each other horizontally or vertically, anywhere on the grid. Bigger groups pay more, and the paytable lists the prize for each cluster size.
After a win, the aliens in the cluster disappear and new ones drop from above to fill the gaps. If the new arrangement forms another cluster, it pays too, and the chain continues until no new wins appear. A single tap can therefore produce several wins in a row, which is why a spin in Reactoonz can last longer than in a standard slot. Our cluster pays glossary entry and the explainer on cascading reels cover both mechanics.
Every cascade in a spin is part of the same result. The outcome is set when you tap spin; the drops simply show it step by step.
Gargantoon, Quantum Leap and the grid features
Play’n GO’s own description sets out the core idea. Every winning cluster sends energy to Gargantoon, a large alien waiting beside the grid. When he is fully charged, he grows and leaps onto the centre of the grid, setting off a chain reaction of up to five features designed to create more winning clusters.
Those features alter the grid in different ways, such as removing symbols or adding wilds. Small wild symbols also appear and substitute for others to help clusters form. Because the names and exact effects are spelled out in the game’s own help pages, and the order matters, it is worth reading them once on the device you will use. The meters that track the charge sit beside the grid in landscape and above or below it in portrait.
Playing Reactoonz in a UK casino app, step by step
Sign in to your casino app and make sure identity checks are complete.
Search for “Reactoonz”. The sequel, Reactoonz 2, will appear too, so pick the original if that is the one you want.
Once loaded, open the menu (often three lines or a question mark) and read the rules and RTP line.
Choose your stake. The selector will not exceed £5, or £2 if you are aged 18 to 24.
Tap spin and let the cascades finish. The next spin can only start after the full sequence and the 2.5-second minimum.
Watch the balance and net position line along the bottom of the screen.
If you are setting up an app for the first time, our guide to downloading casino apps covers both the App Store and Google Play.
Reactoonz RTP 96.51% and high volatility in pounds
An RTP of 96.51% means the game is designed to return £96.51 of every £100 staked over a very long run, leaving a theoretical £3.49 to the casino. Play’n GO offers lower RTP settings too, so check the figure in the rules inside your app.
High volatility means short sessions vary wildly. Here is the theoretical cost, which is an average, not a prediction:

Real sessions swing far beyond those figures, in both directions, and losing is the more likely result over time. Set a budget before you open the game; the casino app limits guide shows how to add deposit and loss limits on your phone.
The 4,570× max win explained
The highest payout is 4,570 times your stake, which works out at £457 at 10p, £914 at 20p and £4,570 at £1. That is lower than many newer high-volatility games, and below the sequel’s 5,083×. Reaching the cap is extremely rare. Our max win glossary entry explains how studios set these limits.
UK rules that change how Reactoonz plays
No autoplay: each spin needs a tap.
At least 2.5 seconds per spin, with no turbo or skip button.
Stake cap of £5 per spin for those 25 and over, £2 for 18 to 24.
Paying to enter a feature directly is not allowed in Great Britain.
Losses disguised as wins are not celebrated with sounds or animations.
Free-play demos are only shown after your age is verified, a UK rule since May 2019. Once verified, the demo is a useful way to see how Gargantoon’s chain reaction looks on your own screen before staking real money. Demo credit cannot be withdrawn and has no value.
Clear, colourful symbols that stay readable on small screens.
Drawbacks
High volatility makes sessions unpredictable.
Lower max win than the sequel.
Meters can be hard to read in portrait on small phones.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Reactoonz app?
No, Play’n GO does not publish Reactoonz as a standalone real-money app. You play it inside licensed casino apps from the App Store and Google Play, or on their mobile websites, using your casino account. The game loads within the app in HTML5, so there is nothing extra to install. Be cautious of store listings that use the game’s name without a known UK-licensed operator behind them. Our guide on spotting fake casino apps explains what to look for before downloading anything.
What is the RTP of Reactoonz?
The published RTP is 96.51% for the standard version. Play’n GO makes lower-RTP versions available to operators, so the setting in your app may differ. You can confirm it in the game rules, usually reached through the menu or a question-mark icon. RTP is a long-run figure over millions of spins, so it tells you little about a single session on a high-volatility game. Our step-by-step guide to finding RTP in an app covers the usual menu routes.
How do you win on Reactoonz?
You win by landing five or more matching alien symbols that touch each other horizontally or vertically. There are no paylines, so the cluster can form anywhere on the 7 × 7 grid. Winning symbols vanish and new ones fall into their place, which can create further wins from the same spin. Wilds and Gargantoon’s features help clusters form. No technique changes the odds; every result is random. Our mobile slot features guide explains cascades and wilds in more detail.
What does Gargantoon do in Reactoonz?
Gargantoon is the large alien who collects energy from every winning cluster. When he is fully charged, Play’n GO’s description says he grows, jumps onto the middle of the grid and starts a chain reaction of up to five features designed to create more winning clusters. The game’s help screen names each feature and explains what it does. Because charging depends on winning clusters, the feature can go a long time without appearing. Our page on bonus rounds covers how features like this fit into a slot’s overall return.
What is the max win on Reactoonz?
The maximum win is 4,570 times your stake. At a 20p stake that is £914, and at £1 it is £4,570. In the UK, the highest stake allowed is £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over, or £2 for those aged 18 to 24. Very few sessions come anywhere near the cap, and most end with less than you started with. The sequel, Reactoonz 2, has a slightly higher maximum. Our max win glossary page explains how these ceilings are set.
Is Reactoonz better in portrait or landscape?
Portrait is usually better on a phone. The 7 × 7 grid is square, so held upright it fills the full width of the screen with the controls below, giving larger symbols than landscape. Turning the phone sideways leaves empty space either side of the grid on most handsets, although it can make the charge meters easier to read. On a tablet or an unfolded foldable, either orientation works well. Our guide to portrait vs landscape mobile slots compares the two for other games too.
Can I play Reactoonz for free in the UK?
Yes, as a demo, but only once a licensed casino has verified your age, a requirement since May 2019. You need to register and pass identity checks before the demo button works. Demo play uses pretend credit, so wins cannot be withdrawn, but it is a good way to learn how cascades and Gargantoon’s features look on your phone. If the demo option is greyed out, our page on demo mode verification explains why.
How much data does Reactoonz use?
Reactoonz uses relatively little data once loaded. The game downloads its graphics and sounds when you first open it, then exchanges small amounts of information with the server for each spin. That makes it far lighter than live casino streaming. Long cascade sequences use more processing power and battery than data. Playing on Wi-Fi at home and lowering screen brightness are the simplest ways to save both. Our casino app data usage guide gives broader figures for slots and live games.
