The Le Bandit app experience is simply Hacksaw Gaming's cluster pays slot loaded inside a licensed UK casino app, with no separate download from the App Store or Google Play. Below you'll find how the 6×5 grid fits a phone screen, how Golden Squares and the Rainbow work, what the 96.34% RTP means in pounds, and which UK rules shape every spin.
Le Bandit is a Hacksaw Gaming slot played inside a casino app, not a standalone app.
Winning symbols leave Golden Squares; a Rainbow turns them into coins, clovers and pots of gold.
Published RTP is 96.34%, but Hacksaw lists lower versions too, so check the in-game info screen.
UK players can't buy the bonus, and stakes are capped at £5 a spin (£2 for ages 18–24).

Is there a Le Bandit app?
No studio publishes Le Bandit as its own download. Hacksaw Gaming supplies the game to licensed casinos, and you open it from the slots lobby of an app you already use, the same way you'd open Wanted Dead or a Wild or Chaos Crew. Any listing in an app store that claims to be "Le Bandit" and offers real-money play without a casino brand behind it should be treated with suspicion; our guide to spotting fake casino apps explains what to look for.
Because the game runs inside the casino's app, your balance, deposit limits and verification status all come from that casino account. The slot itself is an HTML5 file streamed from Hacksaw's servers, so the version you see on an iPhone 15 is the same build you'd get on a Samsung tablet or a desktop browser.
How Le Bandit looks on a phone: portrait and landscape
Hacksaw builds its games with phones in mind, and a 6×5 grid is close to square, which suits a portrait screen better than the wide 5×3 frames of older slots. Holding the phone upright, the grid typically sits in the middle third of the display, with the spin button, stake selector and balance underneath where your thumb rests. Turning to landscape gives the symbols a little more width but leaves empty margins on most modern phones, so many players stay in portrait.
Coins and clovers carry small printed values. On a compact handset such as an iPhone SE those numbers can be hard to read, so a quick pinch-free fix is to raise the system text size or switch to landscape during bonus rounds. Our page on portrait vs landscape mobile slots covers the trade-offs in more detail.

How to play Le Bandit in a casino app
Wins come from clusters of matching symbols that touch horizontally or vertically, rather than from paylines. When a cluster pays, its symbols vanish and new ones drop into the gaps, and this repeats for as long as fresh clusters form. Hacksaw calls a long chain of these drops Super Cascades. The cluster pays and cascading reels glossary entries explain both mechanics in general terms.
Open your casino app, tap Search and type "Le Bandit". If nothing appears, that casino doesn't carry it.
Tap the tile once. If the app offers Play or Demo, Play uses real money from your balance.
Before spinning, tap the menu icon and open the rules to see the RTP your casino runs.
Use the stake control to pick a bet. The highest value shown will respect your age-based cap.
Tap Spin. Each round lasts at least 2.5 seconds under UK rules, and cascades play out automatically.
Tap the heart or star on the game tile afterwards if your app has favourites, so it's one tap away next time.
Golden Squares, the Rainbow and coin values
Every time a winning symbol disappears, the cell it occupied is marked as a Golden Square. Those squares stay dormant until a Rainbow symbol lands on the same spin. When it does, each Golden Square flips over to reveal one of five items. Hacksaw's game page lists them as follows.
Symbol
Value or effect
Example at a 50p stake
Bronze coin
0.2x to 4x stake
10p to £2
Silver coin
5x to 20x stake
£2.50 to £10
Gold coin
Up to 500x stake
Up to £250
Four-leaf clover
Multiplies adjacent cells, including pots, by 2x to 10x
A £2 coin next to a 3x clover becomes £6
Pot of gold
Collects every coin in view plus other pots
Three coins worth £1, £2.50 and £5 add up to £8.50 in the pot
Pots activate in reading order, top to bottom then left to right. If more than one lands, they also collect from each other once the coins are counted, and after the last pot resolves the Golden Squares activate for one more round. That chaining is where the game's bigger returns come from, but it needs both cascades and a Rainbow on the same spin, which is why most spins end with nothing more than a small cluster or no win at all.
Le Bandit bonus rounds and free spins
Scatter symbols marked FS lead to three different bonus rounds, each named after the bandit's quest for gold. In all three, Golden Squares are held between spins instead of resetting, which is the main difference from the base game.
Luck of the Bandit (3 scatters): Golden Squares stay highlighted until a Rainbow activates them. Two more scatters add 2 spins and three add 3. Landing four scatters during the round upgrades it to the next tier with 4 extra spins.
All That Glitters Is Gold (4 scatters): 12 free spins, and highlighted squares remain lit for the whole round, so they can pay out repeatedly.
Treasure at the End of the Rainbow (5 scatters): 12 free spins with lit squares kept throughout and a Rainbow landing on every spin. This tier can only be reached naturally.
Hacksaw's page also mentions a Buy Bonus menu. Feature buys aren't offered to players in Great Britain, so the UK build won't show that option. See our bonus buy entry for why.
Le Bandit RTP, volatility and what they mean per session
The headline RTP is 96.34%, but Hacksaw publishes four settings: 96.34%, 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36%. Casinos choose which one to run, and the gap matters. Over £200 of total stakes, the long-run cost at 96.34% works out at about £7.32; at 88.36% it's roughly £23.28. Neither figure predicts a single session, but the lower setting takes more than three times as much over time. Our guide to finding a slot's RTP in an app shows where to look.
Hacksaw rates the volatility at 3 out of 5, which the industry would call medium. In practice that means a mix of small cluster wins and long gaps, with the larger results concentrated in sessions where a Rainbow meets a big pot chain. At 2.5 seconds per spin, a 30-minute session can mean up to 720 spins; at 20p each that's £144 of turnover from what might have started as a £20 deposit, because wins are re-staked. Setting a deposit limit before you start keeps that in check.
Le Bandit max win and how it's capped
The top prize is 10,000 times your stake. At a 10p spin that's £1,000, at £1 it's £10,000 and at the UK maximum of £5 it's £50,000. When a round reaches that ceiling it ends immediately and pays the capped amount. Reaching the cap is extremely rare; it's a design limit rather than something to plan around. The max win glossary page explains how studios set these ceilings.
UK rules that change how Le Bandit plays
The British version of this game differs from what overseas reviews or videos may show. The table sums up the differences.
Some UK apps show a Demo button beside Play, but only once your account has passed age verification. Demo spins use play credits, so they're a sensible way to watch how Golden Squares and pots behave before staking anything. If the demo is greyed out, the demo mode verification help page explains why. Remember that demo results don't carry over to real play, and the RTP setting may differ.
Coin values can be small to read on compact screens
Rainbow activation is needed for most of the excitement
No bonus buy in the UK, so the bonus only arrives naturally

Frequently asked questions
Can I download a Le Bandit app?
No, there isn't an official standalone Le Bandit app. Hacksaw Gaming supplies the slot to licensed casinos, and you play it inside their apps or mobile sites after logging in. Any store listing claiming to be a real-money Le Bandit app without a UK-licensed casino behind it should be avoided. To play, install a licensed casino app from the App Store or Google Play, search its lobby for the game and open it. Our how to download casino apps guide walks through the safe way to install one on iPhone or Android.
What is the RTP of Le Bandit?
The top published RTP for Le Bandit is 96.34%, but it isn't the only version. Hacksaw lists settings of 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.36% as well, and each casino decides which to run. The figure that applies to you appears in the game's rules or information screen, reached from the menu icon inside the slot. If an app runs the lowest setting, the long-run cost per £100 staked is around £11.64 instead of £3.66. Our RTP range page explains why studios release several versions.
How do Golden Squares work in Le Bandit?
Golden Squares mark every cell where a winning symbol has just disappeared. They do nothing on their own until a Rainbow lands on the same spin, at which point each one reveals a bronze, silver or gold coin, a four-leaf clover or a pot of gold. Clovers multiply neighbouring cells and pots collect everything in view. In the base game the squares reset after each spin, while in the bonus rounds they're held. See our mobile slot features explained page for similar mechanics in other games.
How do I trigger the free spins in Le Bandit?
Free spins are triggered by landing three or more FS scatter symbols in the base game. Three scatters open Luck of the Bandit, four open All That Glitters Is Gold with 12 spins, and five open Treasure at the End of the Rainbow, also with 12 spins and a Rainbow on every spin. Extra scatters during a round add spins. In Great Britain you can't buy entry to any of these rounds, so they only arrive through normal play. Our scatter symbol entry has more on how scatters work.
What is the maximum bet on Le Bandit in the UK?
The maximum is £5 per spin if you're 25 or older and £2 per spin if you're aged 18 to 24. These limits come from Gambling Commission rules that apply to every online slot in Great Britain, and the casino app enforces them automatically using your verified date of birth. A casino can set a lower ceiling than this, and so can you through deposit or loss limits. Our casino app maximum stake page explains how the caps appear in different apps.
Is Le Bandit available on iPhone and Android?
Yes, Le Bandit runs on both, because it's an HTML5 game loaded inside the casino's app or mobile site rather than a separate download. What decides availability is the casino, not the phone: if the app's lobby search doesn't find it, that operator hasn't licensed the game. Performance is usually fine on any recent handset, though older devices may take longer to load the graphics. Our iPhone casino apps and Android casino apps pages cover each platform.
Can I play Le Bandit for free in the UK?
You can play Le Bandit in demo mode only after your casino account has passed age verification, which has been a UK requirement since May 2019. Demo spins use play credits rather than money, so there's nothing to win or lose. Not every app offers a demo for every game, and some hide the button until you're logged in. Be aware that demo versions can use a different RTP setting from the real-money game. Our free slots apps page explains which apps let you try games first.
Is Le Bandit high or low volatility?
Le Bandit is medium volatility; Hacksaw rates it 3 on its 5-point scale. That places it between steady, low-paying games and the very swingy titles where most of the return sits in rare bonus rounds. In practice you'll see frequent small cluster wins with occasional larger results when a Rainbow activates several Golden Squares and pots. It still carries a house edge, so losses are the likely outcome over time. Our volatility and hit frequency entries explain how to read these labels.
