If you can't download casino apps on iPhone in the UK, the usual blockers are Apple's age confirmation for 18+ apps, Screen Time restrictions, an Apple Account set to another country, an iOS version that's too old, or lack of storage. Each has a quick check in Settings, and the App Store usually hints at which one applies when the Get button fails.
Apple may ask you to confirm you're an adult before downloading 18+ apps in the UK; debit cards aren't accepted for that check.
Screen Time's app age limit must allow 18+ apps.
Your Apple Account's country must be the United Kingdom to see UK casino apps.
Coral and Ladbrokes need iOS 18.0 or later; PlayOJO and Casumo need iOS 15.0; 10bet needs iOS 16.0.
If an app is blocked by a gambling blocker or someone else's Screen Time, that's deliberate.

Apple's age confirmation for 18+ apps in the UK
Every real-money casino app on the UK App Store is rated 18+. Apple's support pages say that, because the law requires it in some countries and regions, you may need to confirm you're an adult before you can download apps rated 18+, and Apple may also ask when you change certain safety settings. You can keep using your phone without confirming, but 18+ downloads stay blocked until you do.
According to Apple, it can confirm your age in several ways. It may already have enough from your existing account, such as how long you've had it or whether a credit card is on file. If not, you can add a credit card in your own name, or scan an ID document; Apple lists passport scanning as an option in the UK, alongside driving licences and other government ID. Apple says the ID image is kept briefly and then deleted. Debit cards and gift cards aren't accepted for this check.
This credit card check is only Apple confirming your age. It's separate from your casino account, and you still can't use a credit card to gamble: UK casinos have been barred from accepting credit cards since April 2020. Our page on how casino apps check your age explains the casino's own checks.
Screen Time restrictions on 18+ apps
Screen Time can hide or block apps above a chosen age rating. If the limit is set below 18+, casino apps either won't appear in search or the Get button won't work. To check:
Open Settings and tap Screen Time.
Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions. If it's switched off, Screen Time isn't the problem.
Tap App Store, Media, Web & Games (on some iOS versions, Content Restrictions).
Tap Apps and look at the age rating selected.
If you're the adult who controls this phone and want to allow 18+ apps, select 18+ or Allow All. You may need the Screen Time passcode, and Apple may ask you to confirm your age first.
Go back to the App Store and search again.
If someone else set Screen Time on your phone, or you set it to stop yourself installing gambling apps, the block is doing what it was meant to. Our guide on how to block gambling apps on iPhone explains how people use these settings on purpose.
Apple Account country and region
Casino apps are released country by country, and the UK versions only appear in the UK App Store. If your Apple Account is set to another country, perhaps from living abroad or setting up the phone elsewhere, UK casino apps won't show. Check in Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases > View Account > Country/Region. Changing region is possible but has knock-on effects: you'll need a payment method from the new country and you may lose access to subscriptions, so read Apple's prompts carefully. If you're physically abroad, see using UK casino apps abroad first.
When your iOS version is too old
Operators raise their minimum iOS version over time, and an older iPhone may be left behind. The App Store listings for the apps we cover currently show quite a spread:
App (App Store name)
Requires
Listed size
Coral Casino: Slots & Games
iOS 18.0 or later

Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots
iOS 18.0 or later
101.2 MB
10bet: Sports Betting & Casino

112.3 MB
Casumo Casino & Sports Betting
iOS 15.0 or later
52.5 MB
PlayOJO Real Money Casino
iOS 15.0 or later
25.4 MB
Check your version in Settings > General > About, and update in Settings > General > Software Update. If your iPhone can't install the required version, you can use the casino's mobile website in Safari instead, with the same account and games. Our page on casino apps for older phones and the guide to adding a casino to your home screen show how to make the website feel app-like.
Storage, network and stalled downloads
The listed sizes above are only the download; apps grow as they cache games, so leave room. Settings > General > iPhone Storage shows what's using space and suggests apps to offload. If a download sits on "Waiting" or stalls, Apple's own advice is to restart the iPhone, and to touch and hold the app icon on the Home Screen and choose Prioritise Download. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data helps too. Our page on casino apps for low storage phones has more tips.
Payment prompts and Family Sharing
Casino apps are free to download, but Apple says you may still need a valid payment method on your Apple Account, and a billing problem on an earlier purchase can block all downloads until it's fixed. Check Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases. If your account is part of Family Sharing as a child or teen, Ask to Buy or Screen Time from the organiser will block 18+ apps, and that's as it should be. Gambling apps are for adults only.
Make sure you're downloading the genuine app
Search results can include similarly named games and social casino apps that don't pay real money. Check the developer name on the listing matches the licensed operator: Coral's iOS listing names Entain, with copyright LC International Limited; Ladbrokes' names Entain; PlayOJO's names Skill On Net Ltd; Casumo's names Casumo; 10bet's names 10bet Limited, with copyright Blue Star Planet Limited. Our guides on how to check a casino app developer and how to install casino apps on iPhone go through it step by step.

Frequently asked questions
Why can't I download casino apps on my iPhone in the UK?
The most common reasons are Apple's age confirmation for 18+ apps, a Screen Time limit that blocks 18+ content, an Apple Account set to another country, an iOS version older than the app requires, or not enough storage. Tap Get and read any prompt, then check Screen Time, your account region in Media & Purchases, and Software Update. If you're under 18, you can't and shouldn't download them. Our guide to how to download casino apps covers the whole process.
Why is Apple asking me to confirm my age?
Apple's support pages say that age confirmation is required by law in some countries and regions, and it can be requested when you download or buy apps rated 18+, which includes every real-money casino app. Apple may confirm it from your existing account details, or ask you to add a credit card in your name or scan ID such as a passport or driving licence. Debit cards aren't accepted for this. It's Apple's check, separate from the casino's own verification. The casino side is covered in how casino apps check your age.
Do I need a credit card to download a casino app on iPhone?
Not necessarily. Apple may already be able to confirm you're an adult from your existing account, and in the UK you can scan a passport or other ID instead of adding a card. If you do add a credit card for Apple's age check, it's only used by Apple; you can't use a credit card to deposit with a UK casino, as that's been banned since April 2020. For deposits, use a debit card, bank transfer or an e-wallet funded from your bank. Our Apple Pay casino apps page explains which cards work.
Why don't casino apps show up when I search the App Store?
Either your Apple Account is registered in another country, or Screen Time is set to hide apps above a certain age rating. Check Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases > View Account for the country, and Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions for the app age limit. Also search for the exact App Store name, such as Coral Casino: Slots & Games or PlayOJO Real Money Casino. Our guide to reading casino app store listings shows what to check on each listing.
My iPhone is too old for the Coral app. What can I do?
The Coral and Ladbrokes casino apps currently list iOS 18.0 or later on the App Store. If your iPhone can't update that far, use Coral's mobile website in Safari, which gives you the same account, balance and games, and you can add it to your home screen for one-tap access. Alternatively, some other apps have lower requirements: PlayOJO and Casumo list iOS 15.0, and 10bet lists iOS 16.0. The Coral app review covers its features.
Can I download UK casino apps with an Apple Account from another country?
Not usually. UK casino apps are published in the UK App Store, so they won't appear if your account is set to a different country. You can change your Apple Account's country, but you'll need a payment method from the new country and may lose access to some subscriptions or content. More importantly, UK casinos only accept customers where their licences allow, so if you don't live in the UK, the app isn't for you. The rules are explained in using UK casino apps abroad.
Why is the Get button greyed out on a casino app?
A greyed-out or missing Get button usually means a restriction is in place. Screen Time may be limiting apps to a lower age rating, the account may be a child's account in Family Sharing with Ask to Buy switched on, or Apple may be waiting for you to confirm your age. Check Screen Time first, then any family settings. If you set the restriction yourself to stop gambling, it's working as intended. Our guide to gambling blocking apps compares other blocking tools.
Are casino apps available on iPad and Mac?
The iPhone apps generally also run on iPad. According to their App Store listings, the Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo apps support iPhone and iPad, and can run on Macs with Apple silicon, though Apple notes they're designed for iPad and not verified for macOS. 10bet's listing covers iPhone and iPad but not Mac. On a computer, the casino's website is usually the simpler option. Our iPad casino apps page covers tablet play.
