Add a casino to your home screen

To add a casino to your home screen, open its mobile site in Safari or Chrome, use Share then Add to Home Screen on iPhone, or the three-dot menu then Add to home screen on Android. You get an icon that opens the casino like an app. If you’ve installed the real app and its icon has vanished, it’s usually sitting in the App Library or app drawer.

Key takeaways

  • A home screen shortcut opens the casino’s mobile site full screen, using the same account as the app.
  • It’s a useful fallback when your phone is too old for the app or short of storage.
  • Type the casino’s address yourself before pinning it, so the icon can’t point at a copycat site.
  • Installed app icons that go missing are in the App Library (iPhone) or app drawer (Android).
  • You can just as easily hide or remove casino icons if you’d rather not see them every day.

How to add a casino to your home screen on iPhone

Apple lets any website become a home screen icon, but only through Safari’s share sheet, and on recent iOS versions some other browsers’ share sheets too. The icon uses the site’s own logo where the casino provides one.

  1. Open Safari and type the casino’s web address directly into the address bar, rather than tapping a search ad.
  2. Wait for the casino’s lobby to load fully; there’s no need to log in first.
  3. Tap the Share button. On iOS 26 it sits behind the More button (three dots) beside the address bar; on older versions it’s in the bottom toolbar.
  4. Scroll down the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. Edit the name if you like, keep Open as Web App switched on where your iOS version shows it, then tap Add.
  6. Find the new icon on your last home screen page and drag it wherever you want.

Opened from the icon, the casino fills the screen without Safari’s address bar, much like the native app. Our iPhone casino apps page compares this with installing the real thing.

Adding a casino site to an Android home screen

Chrome is the default browser on most Android phones, and Samsung phones also ship with Samsung Internet. Both can pin a site in a few taps.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and go to the casino’s address.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to home screen. If the site supports installation you’ll be offered Install; otherwise choose Create shortcut.
  4. Confirm the name and tap Add. Some launchers ask whether to place it automatically or let you drag it into position.

Samsung Internet

Tap the menu button (three lines) in the bottom bar, choose Add page to, then Home screen. The icon behaves the same way as Chrome’s.

When Chrome offers Install, the site is a progressive web app: it gets its own entry in the app drawer and opens in a standalone window. A plain shortcut simply opens a Chrome tab. More on the Android side is in our Android casino apps guide.

Home screen shortcut or installed casino app?

Both routes lead to the same account, balance, limits and verification status. The differences are in how the phone treats them.

Why pin a casino site instead of installing the app

  • Your phone is too old for the app. Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ iPhone apps need iOS 18, but their mobile sites run in Safari on older versions. See casino apps for older phones.
  • Storage is tight. A shortcut uses a fraction of an app’s space, which helps on low-storage phones.
  • Your device has no Google Play. Recent Huawei phones and Amazon Fire tablets can still reach the mobile site.
  • You want to look around first. Pinning the site lets you read the terms and safer gambling pages before committing an app to your phone.
  • Work or family restrictions. If a managed device blocks the store app, that’s a decision to respect rather than work around.

Putting an installed casino app back on the home screen

Icons often go missing when someone chooses Remove from Home Screen instead of Delete App, or when iOS is set to send new downloads straight to the App Library.

iPhone

  1. Swipe left past your last home screen page to open the App Library.
  2. Type the casino’s name in the search bar at the top.
  3. Press and hold the icon, then tap Add to Home Screen. If that option is missing, the icon is already on a page or inside a folder.

To stop new apps disappearing into the library, go to Settings > Home Screen & App Library and choose Add to Home Screen.

Android

Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen to open the app drawer, find the casino app, then press and hold it and drag it up onto a home screen page. On some launchers you press and hold and choose Add to Home.

Casino app widgets on the home screen

A widget is a live panel rather than an icon. Casumo’s App Store listing mentions a home screen widget, alongside a Quick Launch feature for the last four slots played; the other partner listings don’t mention widgets, so check inside each app.

On iPhone, press and hold an empty part of the home screen, tap Edit then Add Widget, search for the app, choose a size and tap Add Widget. On Android, press and hold an empty space, tap Widgets, find the app and drag the widget into place. Bear in mind that a widget keeps a casino in view all day; if that nudges you to play more often than you’d planned, remove it.

Make sure the shortcut points to the real casino

A shortcut opens whatever page was on screen when you created it. If you reached a lookalike site through a search ad or a message, the icon will faithfully open that lookalike every time, complete with the real casino’s logo.

  • Type the casino’s address yourself, or follow the link from its official app listing.
  • Before tapping Add, look at the address bar and check the domain is spelt correctly, with no extra words or hyphens.
  • Scroll to the footer and confirm the licence holder’s name and UKGC account number, then match them on the Gambling Commission’s public register.
  • Never pin a page reached from a text message or social media post claiming to offer a bonus.

Our guides to checking a casino licence and casino app red flags set out what to look for.

Logging in from a home screen shortcut

On iPhone, a site opened as a web app from the home screen keeps its own storage, separate from Safari’s tabs. You’ll usually need to log in once inside the shortcut even if you were already logged in in Safari. Saved passwords and passkeys in iCloud Keychain still fill in, with Face ID approving them. On Android, Chrome shortcuts share Chrome’s cookies, so you often arrive already signed in.

Casinos time out idle sessions for security, so expect to log in again after a while. A password manager makes that quick without reusing passwords, and turning on two-factor authentication where it’s offered protects the account if the phone is shared.

Hiding or removing a casino icon from your home screen

The same tools work in reverse. To remove a web shortcut on iPhone, press and hold it and tap Delete Bookmark; on Android, press and hold and drag it to Remove. Deleting a shortcut or app never closes the account.

If you want casino apps out of sight on a shared phone, iOS 18 and later let you press and hold an installed app and choose Require Face ID, then Hide and Require Face ID, which moves it into a locked Hidden folder. Samsung’s Secure Folder and Android’s private space on recent Pixel phones do a similar job. If the aim is to gamble less rather than to hide it, a time-out or app blocking is the stronger step; see blocking gambling apps on iPhone.

Casinos worth pinning or installing

Coral, Casumo and 10bet each run a full mobile site alongside their apps, so either route opens the same account. Their welcome offers are for new customers aged 18 or over and are identical in app and browser, with terms covering minimum deposits, wagering where it applies, and expiry.

Frequently asked questions

Is a home screen shortcut the same as a casino app?

Not quite. A shortcut opens the casino’s mobile website, while an app is software installed from the App Store or Google Play. Both use the same account, balance, limits and verification, and the games are usually the same HTML5 versions. The app can add store-only features such as widgets or haptic feedback, and the shortcut takes almost no storage and works on older phones. Our app vs mobile site guide compares them, and HTML5 games explains why the games match.

Why can’t I see Add to Home Screen in Safari?

The option is in Safari’s share sheet, and you may need to scroll down to find it. On iOS 26 the Share button itself sits behind the More button with three dots next to the address bar, which catches many people out. If it still isn’t listed, tap Edit Actions at the bottom of the share sheet and add it back. Private Browsing tabs and some in-app browsers, such as those inside social apps, don’t offer it, so open the page in Safari proper. See our iOS 26 page for more.

Is it safe to add a casino website to my home screen?

Yes, as long as the shortcut points to the genuine, licensed casino. The shortcut is only a link, and the site runs inside the browser’s security sandbox. The real risk is pinning a copycat site, so type the address yourself and check the licence details in the footer against the Gambling Commission register before you add it. Treat links from texts or social media with suspicion. Our how to spot fake casino apps guide covers the warning signs.

Can I get notifications from a casino home screen shortcut?

Possibly, but it depends on the casino’s site and your phone. Since iOS 16.4, websites added to the home screen can ask permission to send push notifications, and Chrome on Android supports them for sites too. Whether a casino’s mobile site actually uses this is up to the operator, and many reserve notifications for their apps. You control any permission in your phone’s notification settings. Our guide to casino app notifications explains what to allow.

Will a home screen shortcut use less data than the app?

Not much less once you start playing. Games stream from the casino’s servers in both cases, so a slot or live table uses similar data either way. The saving is in storage and the initial download, since the shortcut skips a 25 MB to 100 MB-plus install and the app’s own updates. Live dealer games are the heaviest users of data on either route. Our casino app data usage page gives typical figures and tips for staying within your allowance.

How do I add a casino app to my home screen after installing it?

On iPhone, swipe left to the App Library, search for the app, press and hold its icon and tap Add to Home Screen. On Android, swipe up to open the app drawer, then press and hold the app and drag it onto a home page. To stop iPhone apps landing only in the App Library, set Settings, Home Screen & App Library to Add to Home Screen. If the app isn’t in either place, it was deleted; reinstall it as shown in how to install casino apps on iPhone.

Does deleting the home screen icon close my casino account?

No, removing a shortcut or deleting an app only affects your phone. Your account, any balance and pending withdrawals stay exactly as they are with the casino. To close an account, use the closure option in the account settings or ask customer support, and withdraw your balance first. If you’re deleting icons because gambling is taking up more time or money than you want, a time-out or self-exclusion locks the account itself. See how to self-exclude on a casino app.

Can I add a casino to the home screen of an iPad or tablet?

Yes, the steps are the same. On iPad, open Safari, tap the Share button at the top right of the toolbar and choose Add to Home Screen. On an Android tablet, use Chrome’s three-dot menu and Add to home screen. Tablet screens show more of the lobby at once, and slots often look better in landscape. If you’d rather use a full app on a bigger screen, our iPad casino apps page lists which store apps support iPad.
