Casino apps on iOS 26

Casino apps on iOS 26 work normally: every partner casino app we list asks for iOS 18 or earlier, so an iPhone running iOS 26 meets the requirement with room to spare. iOS 26 arrived on 15 September 2025 with Apple’s new Liquid Glass design, and iOS 27 followed in September 2026. This page covers compatibility, the settings worth checking, and fixes if an app misbehaves after an update.

Key takeaways

  • iOS 26 runs on iPhone 11 and later and the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later.
  • All five partner apps list iOS 15, 16 or 18 as their minimum, so iOS 26 is supported.
  • Reduce Transparency and Increase Contrast fix most Liquid Glass legibility complaints.
  • After any iOS update, update the casino app too before reporting a fault.

Which casino apps run on iOS 26

Apple’s App Store lists a minimum iOS version for every app, and anything newer is accepted. iOS 26 is newer than every minimum our partners publish, so all five install and update normally. The version number jumped from iOS 18 to iOS 26 because Apple moved to year-based naming in 2025; there were no iOS 19 to 25.

A listing tells you the app supports the operating system; it doesn’t certify any particular iPhone model. For more on reading those details, see how to read casino app store listings and our overview of iPhone casino apps.

Which iPhones can run iOS 26

iOS 26 supports the iPhone 11 range and everything newer, plus the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later. It dropped the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, which stopped at iOS 18. Those older phones can still meet the iOS 18 minimum for Coral and Ladbrokes, but they will not get future versions of apps that raise their requirement beyond iOS 18.

iOS 27 supports exactly the same list of iPhones as iOS 26, so if your phone runs iOS 26 it can move to iOS 27 as well. Some people stay on the last iOS 26 release for a while; that is fine for casino apps today, though installing security updates promptly matters on a phone that holds payment details and an identity-verified gambling account. Model-specific notes are on our iPhone 17, iPhone 16 and iPhone SE pages.

Checking your iOS version and updating

  1. Open Settings, tap General, then About. The iOS Version line shows the exact release, for example 26.x.
  2. Go back to General and tap Software Update to see whether a newer iOS 26 point release or iOS 27 is offered.
  3. Before a major update, make sure you know your casino login details, because some apps ask you to sign in again afterwards.
  4. Once the phone restarts, open the App Store, tap your profile picture and update any casino apps waiting in the list.
  5. Open each casino app and check that Face ID login, notifications and location prompts still behave as you set them.

Liquid Glass and reading casino apps clearly

iOS 26 introduced Liquid Glass, a translucent style for system menus, tab bars, Control Centre and notifications. Inside a casino app, the operator’s own design mostly decides what you see, but system elements around it, such as the keyboard, share sheet and Apple Pay sheet, take on the new look. Some people find translucent layers harder to read over busy slot artwork.

  • Reduce Transparency (Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text Size) makes system bars more solid.
  • Increase Contrast in the same menu sharpens text and borders.
  • Bold Text helps if menu labels look thin.
  • Dark Mode (Settings, Display & Brightness) affects apps that follow the system theme; many casino lobbies are dark already.

The casino app display settings and dark mode guide explains which options reach inside the app and which only affect iOS.

Face ID, passwords and Apple Pay on iOS 26

Biometric login works the same way as on earlier versions: the casino app asks iOS to confirm your face or fingerprint and then uses a token stored on the phone. Casumo’s iOS listing mentions Face ID and Touch ID login; the other partner listings don’t mention it, so check the app’s settings. If Face ID stopped working after an update, open Settings, Face ID & Passcode, Other Apps, and make sure the casino app is still switched on.

Apple Pay deposits use your Wallet debit card. Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo accept Apple Pay according to their help centres. Credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain, including through Apple Pay, so a credit card in Wallet will be declined. Saved passwords and passkeys live in Apple’s Passwords app, which arrived with iOS 18 and continues in iOS 26. More in Apple Pay casino apps and casino app Face ID not working.

Permissions and privacy settings to review

After a major update it is worth checking what each casino app is allowed to do. On iOS 26, per-app settings sit under Settings, then Apps, then the app’s name.

PlayOJO’s iOS listing notes that the app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can affect battery life, so check its location setting in particular. See casino app permissions explained and casino app notifications.

Screen Time and safer gambling on iOS 26

iOS 26 keeps Screen Time, which can limit how long you spend in any app or block apps by age rating. Because casino apps carry an 18+ rating on the UK App Store, setting the App Store content limit below 18+ stops them being installed or opened. That is useful alongside the casino’s own tools: deposit limits, reality checks, time-outs and GAMSTOP. Our guide on how to block gambling apps on iPhone has the steps, and the safer gambling page lists free UK support.

Using Safari on iOS 26 instead of an app

Every partner also runs a mobile site that works in Safari on iOS 26, with the same account, games and limits. Safari can be a useful fallback while an app update is pending, or on an iPhone that has dropped off an app’s supported list. Adding the site to the Home Screen gives a one-tap icon; see casino app or mobile site.

Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ casino apps need iOS 18 or later, so an iPhone on iOS 26 runs the current versions; Casumo’s iOS listing mentions Face ID login and an Apple Pay quick deposit. 18+, new customers, terms apply.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions

Do casino apps work on iOS 26?

Yes. Coral and Ladbrokes require iOS 18 or later, 10bet iOS 16, and PlayOJO and Casumo iOS 15, according to their UK App Store listings, so iOS 26 meets every requirement. The apps install, update and accept Apple Pay in the usual way. If one misbehaves after you update the phone, update the app itself first, because an older app build on a new iOS is the most common cause. Messages you might see are explained on our casino app update required page.

Which iPhones support iOS 26?

iOS 26 supports the iPhone 11 series and later, and the iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later. It dropped the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max, which top out at iOS 18. Those older models still meet the current iOS 18 minimum for Coral and Ladbrokes, but they could lose access to future versions if the requirement rises. iOS 27 supports the same iPhones as iOS 26. Our casino apps on older phones page covers what to do when an iPhone falls off the list.

Should I update from iOS 26 to iOS 27 for casino apps?

There is no casino-specific reason you must, because every partner app still supports iOS 26. The stronger reason to update is security: a phone that holds an identity-verified gambling account and stored payment details should get Apple’s security fixes promptly. If you prefer to wait, at least install iOS 26 point releases when Software Update offers them. After any update, update your casino apps from the App Store and check your Face ID setting. See keep your casino app account secure.

Why does my casino app look different on iOS 26?

Mostly because of Liquid Glass, the translucent design Apple introduced in iOS 26 for menus, tab bars, the keyboard and system sheets such as Apple Pay. The casino’s own game screens are designed by the operator and studio, so they change only when the app is updated. If translucent bars are hard to read over bright slot graphics, switch on Reduce Transparency or Increase Contrast under Settings, Accessibility, Display & Text Size. Further options are listed in our casino app accessibility guide.

Face ID stopped working in my casino app after the iOS 26 update. What should I do?

Check that Face ID is still allowed for the app, then switch the app’s own biometric login off and on again. On the iPhone, open Settings, Face ID & Passcode, Other Apps, and confirm the casino app is enabled. Then sign in once with your password and re-enable Face ID inside the app’s security or login settings. If it still fails, update the app and restart the phone. More fixes are on our casino app Face ID not working page.

Can I deposit with Apple Pay in a casino app on iOS 26?

Yes, where the operator accepts Apple Pay. Coral, Ladbrokes and Casumo list Apple Pay in their payment methods, and the payment sheet looks slightly different on iOS 26 because of Liquid Glass. The card in Wallet must be a debit card, because credit cards can’t be used for gambling in Great Britain. Check offer terms too, as some welcome offers exclude certain payment types. The Apple Pay casino app bonus page explains which offers accept wallet deposits.

Is it safe to use casino apps on an iOS 26 beta?

It is best avoided. Beta software is unfinished, and payment, verification and location screens are the parts of an app most likely to fail. A failed deposit or verification upload is annoying; a phone that can’t open your account during a withdrawal check is worse. Operators also make no promise that their apps will work on unreleased iOS builds. Keep gambling and banking on the public release. For general safety steps, see casino app safety.

Can I block casino apps with Screen Time on iOS 26?

Yes. Screen Time can limit apps by age rating, and UK casino apps are rated 18+ on the App Store. Open Settings, Screen Time, Content & Privacy Restrictions, switch them on, then set the App Store age limit below 18+ to hide and block those apps. You can protect the setting with a separate Screen Time passcode held by someone you trust. For stronger protection, combine it with GAMSTOP and your bank’s gambling block. See how to block gambling apps on iPhone.

Why does a casino app ask for my location on iOS 26?

Operators licensed in Great Britain may check where you are as part of fraud and compliance checks, and some use location to personalise content. iOS 26 lets you choose Never, Ask Next Time, While Using the App or Always for each app, and whether to share precise location. While Using the App is enough for most purposes. If a game refuses to load with a location message, check the permission and turn off any VPN. The casino app location checks explained guide has the details.
