Casino apps on a Mac are possible on Apple silicon models: four of the five apps we cover list Macs with an M1 chip or later on the UK App Store, as iPad apps marked "Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS". Intel Macs can't run them, and for many people the casino's website in Safari is still the simplest option.
Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo list Macs with Apple M1 or later on the UK App Store; 10bet's listing doesn't include Mac.
These are iPad apps running on macOS, labelled 'Not verified for macOS', so the developer hasn't confirmed they're tested on a Mac.
Intel-based Macs can't install iPad apps; use the casino's website in Safari, Chrome or Firefox instead.
Your account, offers and safer gambling limits are the same in the Mac app, the website and your phone.

Can you get casino apps on a Mac?
There are no Mac-native casino apps from the brands we cover, but there is a route that many people don't know about. Since Apple moved to its own chips, Macs with an M1 processor or later can run many iPhone and iPad apps from the Mac App Store, unless the developer opts out. Several UK casino apps take part, so on a recent Mac you can install the same app you use on your iPad.
Apple marks these listings "Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS", meaning the developer hasn't confirmed the app has been tested on a Mac. It may work well, or it may show quirks with windows, keyboards or location. On older Intel Macs the option doesn't exist at all. For everyone, the casino's website in a desktop browser remains a dependable alternative. Our iPad casino apps guide covers the iPad versions themselves.

Use the website
A listing that names Mac doesn't mean the operator supports or tests the app on that hardware, so if something goes wrong, the website is the fallback. To find your Mac's chip and macOS version, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. Our guide to reading casino app store listings explains the other details on these pages.
Installing an iPad casino app on an Apple silicon Mac
Open the App Store on your Mac and sign in with the same Apple Account you use on your iPhone or iPad.
Search for the casino's name; in the results, switch to the iPhone & iPad Apps tab if it appears.
Open the listing and check the seller or developer matches the licence holder, and that the age rating is 18+.
Click Get or the download icon and confirm with Touch ID or your password.
Open the app from Launchpad or the Applications folder and allow location access when macOS asks.
Sign in, or register and complete the age and identity checks, then set a deposit limit.
If the app doesn't appear on the Mac App Store, your Mac may have an Intel chip, your macOS may be older than the listing requires, or the developer may have withdrawn Mac availability. Apple only lets licensed operators publish real-money gambling apps on the UK store; read our page on Apple's App Store gambling rules for the details.
What "not verified for macOS" means in practice
An iPad app on a Mac runs in a window that imitates an iPad screen. Taps become clicks, swipes become trackpad gestures, and the window may only resize to certain shapes. Because the developer hasn't verified the Mac version, a few things can behave unexpectedly.
Window size: some apps open in a fixed, tablet-shaped window; others allow full screen.
Keyboard: typing works, but some buttons expect a tap and won't respond to keys.
Camera: document uploads for verification may use the Mac's camera or a file picker, or may not work, depending on the app.
Location: the app relies on macOS Location Services, which estimate position from Wi-Fi.
Notifications: may appear in macOS Notification Centre if you allow them.
Playing in Safari, Chrome or Firefox on a Mac
The website is the route every Mac can use, including Intel models. Casino sites are built for desktop screens, so the lobby, cashier and safer gambling settings are laid out clearly, and games run in the browser using HTML5. In Safari on recent macOS versions you can choose File, then Add to Dock to turn a site into a stand-alone web app with its own icon.
iPhone Mirroring: using your phone's casino app from the Mac
Recent versions of macOS and iOS include iPhone Mirroring, which shows your locked iPhone's screen in a window on the Mac and lets you control it with the keyboard and trackpad. In principle that means your iPhone's casino app on the Mac's display. It's still the phone doing the work, so location, Face ID set-up and notifications behave as they do on the iPhone, though some apps and video streams may not display or respond well when mirrored.
Mirroring adds another way to reach a gambling app quickly, which isn't always helpful. If you're trying to cut down, Screen Time on your iPhone can limit or block the app on every route. See how to block gambling apps on iPhone.
Touch ID, passwords and Apple Pay on a Mac
MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models with Apple silicon have Touch ID in the keyboard, and Apple sells a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID for desktop Macs. That fingerprint can approve App Store downloads, fill saved passwords in Safari and confirm Apple Pay. Inside an iPad casino app, a biometric login option depends on the developer; Casumo's listing mentions Face ID and Touch ID support, while the others don't say.
Apple Pay deposits must come from a debit card, because credit card gambling is banned in Great Britain. Some welcome offers exclude particular payment methods, so check the terms first. Our Apple Pay casino apps page and account security guide cover both topics in depth.

UK rules and limits apply on your Mac too
A Mac doesn't change what you can stake or how games behave. Slots are limited to £5 per spin for over-25s and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds, with no autoplay and a minimum 2.5-second spin, and bonus wagering is capped at 10x. Deposit limits, reality checks and time-outs set on your account work everywhere. Treat gambling as entertainment you pay for; over time, the house edge makes losses the expected result. Our safer gambling page lists free support, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Frequently asked questions
Can I download casino apps on a MacBook?
On a MacBook with an Apple silicon chip (M1 or later), yes, where the developer allows its iPad app on Mac. The UK App Store listings for Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO and Casumo all name Macs with M1 or later, with Apple's label "Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS". 10bet's listing doesn't include Mac. Intel MacBooks can't run iPad apps, so use the casino's website in a browser instead; it's the same account. Our download guide explains how to check a listing before installing.
What does 'Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS' mean?
It means the app was built for iPad and Apple is letting it run on Apple silicon Macs, but the developer hasn't confirmed it has been tested on macOS. Most features usually work, though windows may not resize freely, some buttons may expect touch, and camera or location features can behave differently. If something doesn't work, such as a document upload, complete it on the website or your phone. The account is shared, so nothing is lost. Our verification guide explains the documents casinos ask for.
Can I use casino apps on an Intel Mac?
Not as apps. Running iPhone and iPad apps on a Mac requires an Apple silicon chip, so Intel Macs don't see these listings in the Mac App Store. You can still play through the casino's website in Safari, Chrome or Firefox, which is a full desktop version with the same games, balance, offers and safer gambling tools. In Safari on recent macOS you can add a site to the Dock so it opens like an app. The guide to adding a casino to your home screen shows the phone equivalent.
Why does a casino app on my Mac ask for my location?
UK-licensed casinos must check you're playing from a place their licence covers, so the app asks macOS for your location. Macs estimate position from Wi-Fi networks rather than GPS. If you refuse, the app may block games or the cashier. You can review the permission in System Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services. Turn off any VPN too, because casinos commonly block them. The location tracking explainer covers what the permission is used for.
Is a casino website in Safari as safe as the app?
Yes, provided you're on the genuine site. A licensed casino's website uses the same encryption, account security and safer gambling tools as its app, because both connect to the same account. Type the address yourself, check the padlock and domain, and avoid following adverts or emails to log in. Use a strong, unique password, ideally stored in a password manager, and switch on two-step verification if offered. Our casino app safety guide covers fake sites and phishing in more detail.
Can I use Apple Pay for casino deposits on a Mac?
Where the casino's cashier offers Apple Pay, you can confirm with Touch ID on a Mac that has it, or approve on a nearby iPhone or Apple Watch. The card behind Apple Pay must be a debit card, because credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain. Check offer terms before choosing a method, as some promotions exclude certain payment types. Withdrawals typically return to the method you deposited with. Our page on Apple Pay casino app bonuses explains how payment choice can affect offers.
Can I use my iPhone casino app through iPhone Mirroring?
iPhone Mirroring on recent macOS versions lets you see and control your iPhone from the Mac, so in principle your phone's casino app appears in a window on the larger screen. The app is still running on the iPhone, so its location checks, log-in and settings are the iPhone's. Some apps and live video streams may not display or respond properly when mirrored. If you want fewer routes into gambling, Screen Time limits on the iPhone apply. Read our iPhone casino apps guide for the phone side.
Do casino offers differ between the Mac app and the website?
No. Welcome offers and promotions are attached to your account, not to the device or app. The terms you see on the website are the terms in the app, including minimum deposits, payment exclusions, spin values, expiry and wagering, which can't exceed 10x for UK bonuses since 19 January 2026. Occasionally a promotion is advertised only in an app's inbox, but your eligibility is still account-based. See whether apps have different bonuses for the details.
