Casino apps for Windows PC

Casino apps for Windows PC mostly means casino websites: none of the five apps we cover has a Windows version in its store listings, and Microsoft withdrew its Windows Subsystem for Android in March 2025. The good news is that a licensed casino's site in Edge, Chrome or Firefox can be installed as a desktop app in a few clicks.

Key takeaways

  • The App Store and Google Play listings for our five partners don't include Windows; the website is the standard way to play on a PC.
  • Microsoft's Windows Subsystem for Android, which ran some Android apps on Windows 11, was withdrawn on 5 March 2025.
  • Android emulators can trigger casino security checks and expose your account to unvetted software, so avoid them.
  • Edge and Chrome can install a casino website as an app with its own window and Start menu icon.

Are there casino apps for Windows PC?

Not in the way there are for phones. UK casinos put their effort into iPhone and Android apps, and the store information we hold for Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet lists phones, tablets and, for some, Apple silicon Macs, but never Windows. On a PC, the casino's website is the product: same account, same games, same cashier and the same safer gambling tools.

That isn't a downgrade. A casino's desktop site was its main product long before apps, and it's built for a large screen, a mouse and a keyboard. With a browser's "install as app" option it can even sit in your taskbar like a program. The rest of this page covers that set-up, why emulators are a bad idea, and fixes for common PC problems. On a phone, start with our real-money casino apps guide.

What happened to Android apps on Windows 11?

For a few years Windows 11 could run some Android apps through the Windows Subsystem for Android, with apps supplied by the Amazon Appstore rather than Google Play. From 5 March 2025 Microsoft stopped offering the subsystem, and the Amazon Appstore on Windows went with it. Even while it existed, it never offered Google Play, so the Android casino apps most people know weren't available through it.

Guides that still recommend it are out of date. If you have an old copy installed, it won't receive security updates, which matters for any app that handles money and ID documents.

Why Android emulators and casino apps don't mix

Third-party emulators run a copy of Android inside Windows, and you'll find tutorials showing casino apps running in them. There are good reasons to steer clear.

  • Security checks: casino apps check the device they're running on. An emulator can look like a rooted or modified phone, which may block the app or flag the account for review.
  • Location: emulators fake or approximate GPS, so the location check that UK casinos must run may fail or look suspicious.
  • Terms: casinos generally forbid software that automates or alters play, and some emulators include macro and auto-click tools.
  • Trust: you'd be signing in to a real-money account inside software that neither the casino nor Google has vetted, often with Google Play installed from unofficial sources.

The website gives you everything the app does on a PC without these problems. Read more about sideloading and casino app red flags.

Installing a casino website as a Windows app

Edge and Chrome can install many websites as apps. The result opens in its own window without tabs or an address bar, appears in the Start menu, and can be pinned to the taskbar. Menu names shift between browser versions, but the steps look like this in Edge.

  1. Open Edge and type the casino's web address yourself, then check the padlock and the domain.
  2. Open the menu (three dots at the top right) and choose Apps.
  3. Select the option to install this site as an app, rename it if you like, and confirm.
  4. Choose whether to pin it to the taskbar or Start menu when Edge asks.
  5. Open the new app, log in, and set a deposit limit in the account's safer gambling area before depositing.

In Chrome, the equivalent lives under the three-dot menu, usually in a section for casting, saving and sharing. Some casino sites are built as progressive web apps and show an install icon in the address bar. This is the desktop cousin of adding a casino to your home screen on a phone.

One practical difference is privacy: a PC is often in a shared room or used by several people. Lock the screen when you step away, don't let the browser save a casino password on a shared Windows account, and log out after playing. Our guide to keeping your casino account secure has a checklist.

Security on a Windows PC

Casino accounts hold ID documents and payment details, so the PC itself needs to be in good health. Keep Windows and your browser updated, and run the built-in security tools. Windows 10 reached the end of mainstream support on 14 October 2025, so a PC still on it without extended security updates is a weaker place to log in to any money account.

Use a unique password stored in a password manager, and turn on two-step verification if the casino offers it. Windows Hello (face, fingerprint or PIN) can protect saved passwords and passkeys on supported hardware. Our guides to password managers and two-factor authentication explain both.

Windows' Phone Link app can show apps from some Android phones on the PC, and screen-mirroring tools exist for others. It's still your phone running the casino app, so location and security checks happen on the phone. Results vary: some apps and live video streams don't display properly when mirrored. Because the website already works on the PC, there's rarely a reason to mirror a gambling app.

Fixing casino problems on a Windows PC

ProblemWhat to try
Location check failsTurn on Windows location services and allow the browser; disable VPN and proxy extensions
Game stuck on loadingDisable ad and script blockers for the casino domain; clear cache; try another browser
Logged out repeatedlyAllow cookies for the casino; check privacy extensions aren't clearing them
Installed site app won't openUninstall it from Apps settings and reinstall from the browser

Account-level problems, such as a pending withdrawal or a locked login, need the casino's support. Our games won't load page covers browser fixes in more depth.

Staying in control at a desk

A desktop session can run on in a background window while you work or watch something else. Set a deposit limit and a reality check on the account before you start; both apply on every device. UK slots are capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, with no autoplay. Gambling is entertainment that costs money, and the house edge means losses over time are normal. Frequently asked questions

Can I download casino apps on a Windows laptop?

Not from the brands we cover. Their app store listings are for iPhone, iPad, Android and, in some cases, Apple silicon Macs, with no Windows versions. On a Windows laptop you play through the casino's website, which you can install as an app from Edge or Chrome so it opens in its own window from the Start menu. The website uses the same account, balance, offers and limits as the phone app. Our app vs mobile site comparison explains what each format does well.

Can I use BlueStacks or another emulator for casino apps?

We'd advise against it. Casino apps check the device they're running on, and an emulator can look like a modified phone, which can block the app or trigger an account review. Emulators also approximate location, so UK location checks may fail. Many casinos ban software that alters or automates play, and some emulators include macro tools. On top of that, you'd be entering banking and ID details into software nobody has vetted for gambling. The casino's website does the same job safely; see our fake apps guide.

Does Windows 11 still run Android casino apps?

No. From 5 March 2025 Microsoft stopped offering the Windows Subsystem for Android, and the Amazon Appstore on Windows was withdrawn at the same time. Even before then it used Amazon's store, not Google Play, so most Android casino apps weren't available through it. Any remaining installation no longer gets security updates. Use the casino's website instead; Edge and Chrome can install it as a desktop app. Our guide to Android casino apps covers the phone versions for when you're away from your PC.

Is playing at a casino website on a PC safe?

Yes, at a UK-licensed casino and on an up-to-date PC. The website uses the same encryption and account security as the app. Type the address yourself rather than clicking adverts or emails, check the padlock and domain, use a unique password and switch on two-step verification where offered. Keep Windows and your browser updated, and avoid logging in on public or shared computers. Our guide on how to check a casino licence shows how to confirm an operator is licensed by the Gambling Commission.

Why does a casino website say my PC is outside the UK?

Desktop computers usually have no GPS, so casinos check location from your internet address and, if you allow it, Windows location services based on Wi-Fi. A VPN, proxy, work network or some privacy browser extensions can make you appear elsewhere. Switch them off, allow location for the browser in Windows privacy settings, and reload. If it still fails, contact support with details. Our VPN page explains why casinos block them and what can happen to an account.

Can I use Windows Hello to log in to a casino?

Indirectly, in most cases. Windows Hello can protect your browser's saved passwords and passkeys with your face, fingerprint or PIN, so signing in to a casino site becomes a quick Hello check. If a casino supports passkeys, Windows Hello can confirm those too. Casinos may still ask for a code by email or text on a new device. Don't save casino logins on a PC that other people use with the same Windows account. Read about biometric login for how these checks work.

Do casino offers work the same if I join on a PC?

Yes. Welcome offers are attached to your account, so joining on a desktop website gives you the same terms as joining in an app. Check the qualifying deposit, any excluded payment methods, the spin value or bonus size, the expiry and any wagering, which is capped at 10x in the UK since 19 January 2026. Offers are for over-18s and terms apply. If something doesn't credit, check the promotions area before contacting support. Our bonus terms explainer goes through each condition.

How do I stop gambling sites working on my PC?

You have several layers. GAMSTOP self-excludes you from all UK-licensed online gambling for a period you choose. Blocking software can stop gambling sites loading in every browser on the PC, and many banks offer a gambling block on your debit card. Within a casino account, time-outs and self-exclusion close access to that operator. Using more than one tool together makes it harder to undo on impulse. Our gambling blocking apps comparison explains which tools cover Windows.
