How to install casino apps on Android in the UK: open the Google Play Store, search for the casino, confirm the developer is the licensed operator or its group, and tap Install. Play handles updates from then on. There’s no need to download an APK file or change any security setting, and doing so is the riskier route.
Google Play carries real-money casino apps for Great Britain from licensed operators it has approved.
Check the developer line on the listing before you tap Install.
Leave Install unknown apps switched off; a licensed UK casino doesn’t need you to sideload.
If Play says your phone isn’t compatible, the casino’s mobile site works with the same account.
Phones without Google Play, such as recent Huawei models, can’t get these apps from Play at all.

How to install casino apps on Android with Google Play
On almost every Android phone sold in the UK, the Play Store is the right place to get a casino app. The steps below match recent versions of Android on Samsung, Google Pixel, Motorola, OnePlus and most other brands; only the look of the menus changes.
Open the Play Store (the multicoloured triangle icon) and tap the search bar at the top.
Type the casino’s name, for example Ladbrokes Casino, and pick the suggestion that matches.
Tap the app’s name to open its listing, and read the developer name directly under the title.
Tap Install. If your Google account asks for verification, confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.
When the button changes to Open, tap it, or find the new icon in your app drawer.
Long-press the icon and drag it to your home screen if you want it there; some phones add it automatically.
Everything from here happens inside the casino’s own account system. If you already play on the website, log in with the same details and you’ll see the same balance. For a broader comparison of what’s on offer, see our Android casino apps page.
Reading the Play listing: developer, rating and data safety
A Google Play listing tells you more than its screenshots. Three parts matter before installing a gambling app: the developer name under the title, the content rating badge, and the Data safety panel further down. The table shows what the five partner listings displayed on 20 October 2026.

Coral’s developer, LC International Limited, is the company named on its Gambling Commission licence (account 54743). Ladbrokes’ listing uses a different developer label but gives LC International Limited as the contact entity. PlayOJO’s developer, Skill On Net, holds licence 39326, and 10bet’s developer, Blue Star Planet, holds 43173. Casumo’s licence is held by Recro Limited (61549), and its terms page explains how that company relates to Casumo Services Limited. Our guide to reading casino app store listings explains each section, and how to check a casino app developer shows how to match names to the register.
Data safety answers are written by the developer, not tested by Google. Coral’s Android panel saying no data is collected sits oddly beside its iPhone privacy label, which lists several data types, so read both as a starting point rather than the full picture.
Why casino apps can be missing from Google Play
Google Play only shows real-money gambling apps in countries where Google permits them, and Great Britain is one. Your Play Store country comes from your Google account’s payments profile, not from where the phone is. If you set the account up abroad, UK casino apps won’t appear even when you’re at home in Leeds. You can change the Play country in the Play Store settings under General, Account and device preferences, but Google allows it only once a year.
Players in Northern Ireland face different rules because the Gambling Commission’s licensing covers Great Britain, and some offers exclude Northern Ireland; our page on casino apps in Northern Ireland explains. Google’s own policy is summarised in Google Play gambling rules.
Should you install a casino APK file instead?
Before Google opened Play to UK gambling apps, some casinos offered their Android app as a downloadable APK file from their website. Licensed operators now publish through Play, so a site pushing an APK today is a reason for caution rather than a convenience.
Installing an APK means switching on Install unknown apps for your browser, under Settings > Apps > Special app access. That permission stays on until you remove it.
Play Protect can scan a sideloaded app, but a file from an unknown site never went through Google’s review in the first place.
Sideloaded apps don’t update through Play, so security fixes arrive only if you fetch a new file yourself.
An APK can carry a copy of a casino’s branding with a fake login screen built to collect passwords.
If you’ve sideloaded an app in the past, it’s worth deleting it and installing the Play version instead, then switching unknown sources back off. More detail is in casino APK downloads and our glossary entry on sideloading.
Android devices without Google Play
Some Android-based devices ship without Google’s services. Huawei phones launched since 2019 use Huawei’s AppGallery instead, and Amazon Fire tablets use the Amazon Appstore. Neither is a route we can confirm for our partners’ casino apps, so on these devices the practical answer is the casino’s mobile website in the built-in browser.
The mobile site uses the same login, cashier and safer gambling tools as the app. Pinning it to your home screen gives you one-tap access; see our guide to adding a casino to your home screen. Device-specific notes are on our Huawei and Amazon Fire tablet pages.
Android permissions and settings on first run
Recent Android versions ask before an app can post notifications, so expect a pop-up when the casino app first opens. Tap Allow if you want withdrawal updates or offer reminders, or Don’t allow to keep your shade clear. Location prompts give you a choice between precise and approximate, and between While using the app, Only this time and Don’t allow.
Some manufacturers’ battery savers close apps that sit in the background, which can log you out of a casino app when you switch away. If that bothers you, the app’s battery setting (Settings > Apps > the app > Battery) can be set to unrestricted, though it costs a little charge. Our guide to casino app permissions covers each request, and do casino apps drain battery explains the trade-off.
When Google Play won’t install a casino app
Problem
Usual reason
Try this
App not found in search
Play country isn’t the UK, or the device has Family Link limits
Check Play Store settings > General > Account and device preferences
Your device isn’t compatible with this version
Android version or hardware below the app’s minimum
Update Android in Settings > System, or use the mobile site
Download pending for ages
Another update is queued, or Play is set to Wi-Fi only
Open Manage apps & device and pause other downloads
Can’t install: not enough space
Storage full
Clear cached data in Settings > Storage and remove unused apps
Install blocked by parental controls
Family Link or a work profile restricts 18+ apps
Only the account manager or IT administrator can change it
Restarting the phone and clearing the Play Store’s cache (Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear cache) fix a surprising number of stuck downloads. For problems after installation, see casino app keeps crashing.
Samsung, Pixel and other brands: what changes
The Play Store looks the same on every brand, but the phone around it differs. Samsung Galaxy phones also have the Galaxy Store; casino apps from our partners are found through Play, so search there. Samsung’s Secure Folder can hold a separate copy of an app behind its own lock, which some people use to keep gambling apps out of sight on a shared phone.
Pixel phones run Google’s own build of Android and receive updates first, so they rarely hit a version minimum. Budget phones with small storage are the most likely to struggle with app size. See Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and budget Android phones for more.
Installing on Android tablets and Chromebooks
Android tablets use the same Play Store and the same steps. Some phone-first apps open in a stretched portrait window on a tablet; others fill the screen properly, which depends on how each operator built its app. Chromebooks that support Android apps can install from Play too, though touch-first lobbies can feel awkward with a trackpad, and the browser version is often the smoother option. Our Android tablets and Chromebook pages compare the two routes.
After installing: sign in, verify and set a limit
Opening the app takes you to a lobby with Log in and Join buttons. Existing customers sign in with their website details. New customers register, then pass age and identity checks before they can deposit or try demo games, which is a UK requirement. You’ll be prompted to set a deposit limit during sign-up or at your first deposit; choosing a weekly or monthly figure you’re comfortable losing is a good default. Our first week with a casino app guide covers what comes next.
Casino apps to install from Google Play
All five of our partners have UK apps on Google Play. Coral and Ladbrokes offer casino-only apps, PlayOJO is casino-only by design, and Casumo and 10bet are listed under casino-focused or combined titles. Welcome offers are for new customers aged 18 or over, match the website version, and come with terms on deposits, spin values and expiry.
Ladbrokes and Coral both have dedicated casino apps on Google Play, and Ladbrokes’ daily spins are claimed from the app’s inbox. 10bet combines sport and casino in one app. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Are casino apps allowed on Google Play in the UK?
Yes, Google Play allows real-money casino apps in Great Britain from operators licensed by the Gambling Commission that Google has approved. The apps carry a PEGI 18 rating and appear only where your Play account’s country permits them. This is why searching from a UK account finds Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet, while the same search from an account registered elsewhere may find nothing. See Google Play gambling rules for the policy and are casino apps legal in the UK for the law.
Is it safe to install a casino app on Android?
Installing from Google Play is safe when the developer matches the casino’s licence holder or its group. Play scans apps with Play Protect and handles updates, and Android keeps each app’s data separate. The risk rises sharply if you sideload an APK from a website, because nothing checks that file. Beyond installation, use a unique password and two-factor authentication where the casino offers it. Our casino app security page covers the account side.
What Android version do I need for casino apps?
Google Play no longer shows a minimum Android version on its website listings, so the check happens on your phone. If your device is too old, the listing says the app isn’t compatible or offers no Install button. Operators set their own minimums and raise them over time, so a phone that receives Android updates stays compatible longest. If yours can’t install an app, its mobile website usually still works in Chrome. Our Android 16 page covers the current release.
Why does Google Play say a casino app isn’t available in my country?
Play decides availability by your account’s Play country, set from your payments profile, not by your current location. An account first set up in Ireland or Spain, for example, won’t see UK casino apps even on a UK SIM. Change the country in Play Store settings under Account and device preferences, which Google allows once a year, or use the casino’s website. Travelling abroad with a UK account is a separate issue; see casino apps abroad and casino app location errors.
Do I need to allow unknown sources to install a casino app?
No. Every partner casino app is installed straight from Google Play, which needs no change to your security settings. The Install unknown apps permission is only for sideloading files from outside Play, and a licensed UK casino has no reason to ask you to enable it. If you switched it on for a browser or file manager in the past, turn it off again under Settings, Apps, Special app access. Our casino APK downloads page explains why Play is the better route.
How much space does a casino app need on Android?
Expect somewhere between a few tens of megabytes and a couple of hundred once the app has cached lobby images and game files. Google Play’s web listings don’t show an exact size for every device, because Android downloads only the parts your phone needs. Games themselves stream from the casino’s servers, so storage doesn’t balloon the way a console game would. If space is tight, clear the app’s cache occasionally. Our low-storage phones page has more tips.
Can I install a casino app on a work phone?
Often you can’t, and you shouldn’t try to get round it. Work phones and work profiles are usually managed by an IT department through Android Enterprise, which can block categories such as gambling or limit installs to approved apps. Even where it’s allowed, gambling on an employer’s device may break your workplace’s policies and puts your account details on hardware someone else controls. Use a personal device instead; our work phones page sets out the issues.
Does installing the app open a casino account automatically?
No, installing only puts the app on your phone. You still need to log in with an existing account or register a new one, and new accounts must pass age and identity checks before you can deposit. The app and the website share one account, so registering on either gives you access to both. If you already have an account, don’t register again in the app; duplicate accounts break casino terms. See casino app verification for what the checks involve.
How do I uninstall a casino app on Android?
Long-press the app’s icon and tap Uninstall, or go to Settings, Apps, choose the app and tap Uninstall. That removes the app and its local data from the phone, but your casino account, balance and any pending withdrawal are untouched on the operator’s side. If you want to stop gambling for a while, a time-out or self-exclusion inside the account is more effective than deleting the app alone. Our guide to taking a time-out shows how.
