Playing the Honey Rush app version means opening Play’n GO’s honeycomb slot inside a licensed casino app on your iPhone or Android phone. It has no paylines: matching symbols that touch in groups of five or more pay out. Below we explain the hexagon grid on a small screen, the Rush meter and Colony features, and what high volatility means for your budget.
Play’n GO slot on a 37-cell hexagonal grid, paying for connected clusters of 5+ matching symbols.
Instead of a classic free spins round, filling the Rush meter in one spin starts the Rush feature with moving Honeypot wilds.
Top published RTP is 96.5% with high volatility; lower RTP versions exist, so check the help screen.
Published maximum win is 9,000x your stake, which is rare; most sessions end well below it.

Honey Rush app basics: what you are opening
Honey Rush is a Play’n GO slot released in October 2019, and the developer describes it as its first hexagonal cascading grid game. You will not find it as its own download; it sits in the slots lobby of casino apps that offer Play’n GO games. The bees, honeypots and flowers are drawn in a bright, friendly style, but the game is real-money gambling for adults only, with the same rules as any other slot.
The grid has 37 hexagonal cells arranged like a honeycomb, with one cell in the centre that matters for several features. Wins come from cluster pays: five or more identical symbols connected side to side, in any shape. Winning clusters burst and new symbols drop in, a mechanic known as cascading reels, so one tap can produce several wins in a row.
How the hexagon grid works on a phone screen
A honeycomb is roughly round, which suits a phone better than a wide reel set. In portrait the grid can use almost the full width of the display, with the stake and spin controls underneath. In landscape it sits in the middle with controls to one side and more empty space around it. Whether your casino’s build of the game offers both orientations varies, so turn off rotation lock and try each to see which gives bigger cells on your handset.
Clusters can snake in any direction, so spotting them is harder than reading a payline. The game highlights each winning group before it bursts, and the win amount appears near the bottom of the screen. If you want to follow what is happening, larger phones or an iPad make the 37 cells easier to read; our page on iPad casino apps covers tablet play.
Playing Honey Rush in a casino app, step by step
Log in to your casino app and use the search bar to find Honey Rush. Add it to favourites if your app supports that.
Open the game and tap the menu or information icon. Check the RTP shown and skim the cluster pay table.
Choose a stake per spin. UK caps are £5 if you are 25 or over and £2 if you are 18–24.
Tap Spin. Clusters of 5+ matching symbols pay, burst and are replaced by falling symbols until no new clusters form.
Watch the Rush meter on the side of the grid. If it fills during a single spin, the Rush feature starts.
Use the back arrow to leave the game when your session ends; your balance returns to the casino lobby.
There is no line count to set, so the stake you choose is the whole cost of each spin. The help screen also lists how much a cluster pays by size: bigger groups of the same symbol pay more, and the five honey-coloured premium symbols pay more than the lower ones.
Honey Rush features: Worker, Drone and Queen Colonies
Honey Rush does not have a traditional free spins round. Its bonus play is built around a meter and a set of colony features, which the developer describes as follows.
Feature
When it happens
What it does
Worker Colony
At random on a spin with no win
Changes symbols around the centre cell to match it, creating a cluster
Rush meter
Every spin
Each winning cluster adds its symbol count; filling it in one spin starts the Rush
Honeypot wilds
During the Rush
Sticky wilds that move around the grid; one at the start, a second at level two, a third at level three
Honeypot multipliers
During the Rush
Each Honeypot gets x1, x2 or x3 at random; multipliers on the same winning cluster combine
Drone Colony
Each new meter level in the Rush
Changes five symbols around the centre to form a cluster, used when no more wins are possible
Queen Colony
Level four of the meter
Changes symbols to create a cluster of at least 20, with a chance to transform the whole grid
The Rush continues until there are no more winning clusters and every collected colony has been used. That is why a good Rush can run on for a long time on screen: each colony is held back until the grid runs dry, then fires to restart the chain.
Honeypots are a type of sticky wild with a multiplier attached. If two Honeypots with x2 and x3 both sit in a winning cluster, the multipliers combine, which is where the larger Rush results come from.
Honey Rush RTP, volatility and what they mean for a session
The top published RTP is 96.5%, with lower versions also available to casinos. Check the figure in your app before playing, using the method in how to find a slot’s RTP in an app. At 96.5%, the long-run average cost is £3.50 for every £100 staked.
High volatility changes how that cost arrives. Many spins pay nothing or only small clusters, and a large share of the return is concentrated in Rush features that are relatively infrequent. With a £30 budget at 30p a spin you have 100 spins before wins are added back, and it is entirely possible to reach the end of that budget without filling the meter. Lowering the stake to 10p gives 300 spins and a better chance of seeing the feature, though it does not change the long-run cost per pound.

The max win is a ceiling, not a target. It needs an exceptional Rush and the vast majority of sessions never come close, so plan around the spins column rather than the last one.
UK rules on Honey Rush: stakes, speed and no bonus buy
Maximum stake per spin: £5 for players 25+, £2 for 18–24s, applied automatically by the casino.
No autoplay and no turbo; a spin, including its cascades, cannot be sped up below the 2.5-second minimum.
No option to buy the Rush feature in Great Britain; it can only be reached through normal play.
Your balance and net position stay visible while you play, and small returns below your stake are not celebrated as wins.
The UK slot design rules explain why these features are missing from UK versions even if you have seen them in videos from other countries.
Honey Rush demo play on mobile
You can only try a free-play version of Honey Rush in a UK casino app after registering and passing age checks, a rule in place since May 2019. Not every app offers demos. Where one does, it is a useful way to see how the colonies and Rush meter behave before staking real money, but demo results say nothing about what will happen with real stakes. The demo mode glossary entry explains more.
All four are high-volatility cluster games. Reactoonz shares Honey Rush’s meter-driven design and studio; Jammin’ Jars relies on moving wild jars with growing multipliers; Fruit Party uses random multipliers on winning symbols. For more in this style, see cluster pays slots apps.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an official Honey Rush app?
No. Honey Rush is a Play’n GO slot that runs inside licensed casino apps rather than as a separate download. You install a casino app from the App Store or Google Play, log in, and search for the game in the slots lobby. Any store listing using the name for free play is not the real-money game and is not linked to your casino account. Our page on how to check a casino app developer shows how to confirm the app comes from the licensed operator before you sign up.
How does Honey Rush pay out?
Honey Rush pays for clusters of five or more identical symbols that touch each other on the 37-cell hexagonal grid. There are no paylines, and a cluster can be any shape as long as every symbol connects to another in the group. Winning clusters disappear and new symbols fall in, which can create further wins from the same spin. Larger clusters pay more, and the help screen lists the value for each size at your current stake. The cluster pays glossary entry explains the mechanic in more detail.
Does Honey Rush have free spins?
Not in the traditional sense. Instead of a free spins round triggered by scatters, Honey Rush has the Rush feature, which starts when you fill the Rush meter during a single spin. During the Rush you get sticky Honeypot wilds with x1, x2 or x3 multipliers that move around the grid, and colony features that create new clusters once wins dry up. The feature ends when no more wins are possible and every colony has been used. Our guide to mobile slot features compares this kind of meter bonus with classic free spins.
What is the RTP of Honey Rush?
The top published RTP for Honey Rush is 96.5%, but Play’n GO also supplies lower RTP versions and casinos choose which one to run. The figure that applies to you is shown in the game’s information screen inside your app. At 96.5%, the long-run average return is £96.50 for every £100 staked, though high volatility means individual sessions vary a great deal. Read about RTP ranges to understand why one game can carry several figures.
Is Honey Rush high volatility?
Yes, Honey Rush is rated high volatility. That means wins tend to be less frequent and more uneven, with much of the game’s return concentrated in the Rush feature. It is common to play a long stretch without filling the meter. Smaller stakes give you more spins from the same budget but do not change the expected cost per pound staked. If you prefer steadier play, a lower-volatility slot will feel calmer; the volatility glossary entry explains how to compare games.
What is the maximum win on Honey Rush?
The published maximum win is 9,000 times your stake. At a 10p stake that would be £900, and at £1 it would be £9,000. Reaching it requires an exceptional Rush feature with combined Honeypot multipliers and colony transformations, and nearly all sessions finish far below that level. A maximum win figure is useful for comparing how high a game can pay, not for predicting results. The max win glossary entry explains how studios calculate and cap these figures.
Can I play Honey Rush on Android and iPhone?
Yes, through any licensed casino app that offers Play’n GO games. The game is built in HTML5, so the same version loads on iPhone, iPad and Android, adjusting to your screen size. Older phones may take longer to load the first time and can feel slower during long Rush animations; closing background apps usually helps. If the game will not open, our casino app games won’t load page lists the usual fixes, from clearing the cache to updating the app.
Can I buy the Rush feature in Honey Rush?
No, not in Great Britain. Feature buy, sometimes called bonus buy, is not offered to UK players, so the Rush feature can only be reached by filling the meter through normal play. Some videos and reviews from other markets show bonus buy options in various slots, but those versions are not available in UK casino apps. The bonus buy glossary entry explains what the feature is and why it is not offered here.
Is Honey Rush suitable for beginners?
It can be, as long as you understand that it is high volatility and set a firm budget. The cluster rules are simple to grasp, and the Worker Colony occasionally turns a spin with no win into a payout. The Rush feature has several parts, so reading the help screen once is worthwhile. Beginners often find that a low stake gives enough spins to learn how the game behaves. Our casino apps for beginners guide covers budgeting and the safer gambling tools to switch on first.
