Gold Blitz app: who made it and what it is

Gold Blitz comes from Fortune Factory Studios, one of the studios distributed by Games Global, the company that took over Microgaming’s games portfolio in 2022. It was released on 20 December 2022 and has since grown into a series of related titles, so make sure the tile you open is the original Gold Blitz rather than a later edition with different rules.

Like every licensed slot, it has no app of its own. You find it in the lobby of a real-money casino app from a UK-licensed operator, and it uses your casino balance, limits and verification. The gold-rush theme sits on a 6x4 grid, with card-rank symbols as the low payers and horseshoes, bells, gold bars, coins and a gold dollar sign as the higher ones.

Gold Blitz on a phone: layout and controls

Six reels of four symbols suits a phone well. In portrait the grid fills the width of the screen, and the Collect symbols on the outer reels are easy to spot because they sit at the edges. Cash symbols display their value directly on the symbol, so you can see what a Collect would gather before the spin finishes. The jackpot values are displayed above the reels.

How 4,096 ways and Collect wins work

Wins pay from left to right on adjacent reels, starting on reel 1. With four positions on each of six reels there are 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 × 4 = 4,096 ways to connect symbols. Low-value symbols need three or more on adjacent reels; higher-value symbols pay from two. Our ways to win entry explains this format with diagrams.

Collect wins sit on top of normal way wins. If a Collect lands on reel 1 or reel 6 at the same time as Cash symbols, it adds up their values. Worked example: on a 50p spin, a Collect lands with Cash symbols showing 1x, 2x and 0.5x. Together that is 3.5x stake, so the Collect pays £1.75. If a Jackpot symbol is also on the reels, the jackpot is collected too.

The jackpot side also has two extras, Extra Pick and Win ’Em All, which can improve what is revealed; you can get one or the other, not both. The rules screen in the game explains the details.

The Bonus Choice: free spins or Gold Blitz spins

Three or more Bonus Scatters pay a stake multiplier and open the Bonus Choice. You tap to choose between a longer free spins round and a shorter Gold Blitz round. The number of spins depends on how many scatters landed.

Free spins

Wilds appear only on the three middle reels (2, 3 and 4) and act as multiplier wilds worth 2x, 3x or 5x on the wins they help form. Two to six Bonus Scatters during the round add more spins. This option has more spins but depends on wilds lining up. See our multiplier entry.

Gold Blitz spins

Only Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols appear, and at least one Collect lands on every spin, so each spin pays something. The round cannot be retriggered. Neither option is better on average in any way the game discloses. Choose the one you find more enjoyable, not the one you think will win more.

How to play Gold Blitz in a casino app

1. Open your licensed casino app and search for Gold Blitz. Check the studio name and that it is the original title rather than a later edition.
2. Let the game load and open the information screen to confirm the RTP and the Bonus Choice table.
3. Set your stake. UK caps are £5 per spin for over-25s and £2 for those aged 18–24.
4. Tap Spin for each round; there is no autoplay or turbo in the UK.
5. If a Collect lands with Cash symbols, watch the values gather into the win total.

RTP 96%, high volatility and the 5,000x max win

The RTP is 96%, which in theory returns £96 for every £100 staked over a very long run, a long-run cost of £4 per £100. Outside the UK there is a bonus buy version with a slightly different RTP, but it is not available to players in Great Britain, so the 96% figure is the one to compare. UK rules for Gold Blitz

There is no bonus buy in Great Britain, so the Bonus Choice is only reached by landing scatters. Autoplay, turbo and quick-stop are switched off, and every spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds.
