Ladbrokes app not working? First open the Ladbrokes website in your phone’s browser: if that works, the problem is the app or your phone, and an update, restart or reinstall usually fixes it. If the website fails too, it’s your connection, your account status or a Ladbrokes outage. This checklist takes you through each cause in order, for iPhone and Android.
Testing the Ladbrokes website in Safari or Chrome tells you in seconds whether the fault is the app or something wider.
The current iOS app needs iOS 18.0 or later, and Ladbrokes updates it often, so out-of-date software is a common cause.
VPNs, a wrong store region or travelling abroad can all block the app even when it’s working normally.
Some ‘faults’ are account restrictions: unfinished verification, a time-out or a deposit limit.

Ladbrokes app not working: is it your phone or Ladbrokes?
Before changing any settings, narrow the problem down. Two quick tests do most of the work: open ladbrokes.com in Safari or Chrome and sign in, then open another app that uses the internet, such as a news or video app.

A two-minute reset that fixes most Ladbrokes app faults
Temporary glitches often clear with a full restart of the app and phone. Work through this sequence before anything more drastic:
Close the Ladbrokes app fully. On iPhone, swipe up from the bottom and flick the app away; on Android, open Recents and swipe it off.
Turn on aeroplane mode for ten seconds, then turn it off to force a fresh network connection.
Restart the phone.
Reopen the app and sign in again.
If it still fails, try the opposite connection: switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or the other way round.
If a slot froze mid-spin, don’t panic about the stake. Game results are decided on the server, so the outcome is recorded even if your screen lost connection. Reopen the same game to see the result or check your balance history.
Out-of-date app or phone software
The App Store version history shows Ladbrokes releases updates frequently, covering bug fixes, performance work and new games. Older versions can stop connecting once a new one is required, which shows up as a crash on launch, a blank lobby or an “update required” message.
iPhone: open the App Store, tap your profile picture and scroll to pending updates. Update Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots.
Android: open Google Play, tap your profile > Manage apps & device > Updates available.
Phone software: the current iOS app needs iOS 18.0 or later. Check Settings > General > Software Update.
Android: check Settings > System > Software update (wording varies by brand).
Everything in the Ladbrokes app is streamed from its servers; there’s no offline mode. A weak signal is enough to stall a lobby or freeze a live dealer table. Live casino needs the steadiest connection because it’s video, while slots tolerate a weaker one.
Public Wi-Fi in cafés, trains and workplaces sometimes blocks gambling sites outright. School, work or parental-control filters on home broadband can too. If the app works on mobile data but not on a particular Wi-Fi network, the network is the cause.
VPNs deserve their own warning. Routing your phone through another country can make the app refuse to load, trigger security checks or lead to account restrictions under the terms. Switch any VPN or private relay off before opening Ladbrokes. Our can you use a VPN on casino apps page explains why, and casino app data usage covers how much data live streams use.
When the lobby opens but a game won’t load
Ladbrokes hosts thousands of games from many different studios, and each runs its own software inside the app. A single game failing while others work usually points to that game’s provider, not the app.
Close the game and open a different one from another studio. If that works, the first game has a temporary issue.
Make sure you’re signed in: Ladbrokes’ help centre says casino games can only be accessed by logged-in players.
Check your age verification is complete; Ladbrokes blocks all gambling products, including free-to-play, until it is.
Rotate the phone. Some games prefer landscape and show a rotate prompt that can be missed.
Try again later and, if one game stays broken for a day, report it to support with the game’s name.
Each game’s rules and RTP are in its help screen, opened from the information or question-mark icon inside the game. Our games won’t load guide covers more cases.
Clearing cache and reinstalling on iPhone and Android
Corrupted cached data is a classic cause of a Ladbrokes app that crashes at the same point each time. Clearing it, or reinstalling, doesn’t touch your account or balance, which are stored by Ladbrokes.
Offload App in Settings > General > iPhone Storage
Clear storage (you’ll need to sign in again)
Full reinstall
Delete app, then download from the App Store
Uninstall, then install from Google Play
After reinstalling
Sign in; re-enable notifications and biometrics
Sign in; re-allow permissions
Reinstall from the official store only, never from a website APK. For more on what the app cache holds and why it breaks, see the glossary, or read casino app keeps crashing.
Location and country errors
Ladbrokes’ operator help pages don’t publish a requirement to turn on location services, although the iOS privacy label shows precise location is collected for product personalisation. Location-style errors more often come from the network: a VPN, a foreign IP address while travelling, or a store account set to another country.
If you’re abroad, the app may not work in that country under the terms, and a UK account is for UK residents. Our pages on location errors and using UK casino apps abroad explain the rules.
When it isn’t a fault: account restrictions
Some messages look like technical errors but are deliberate blocks. Ladbrokes’ help centre states that until verification is complete you can’t deposit, bet or access any gambling products. Routine re-checks can bring the same restrictions back later in an account’s life.
Verification outstanding: games and the cashier stay locked until documents are approved, which Ladbrokes aims to do within 36 hours.
Deposit limit reached: the cashier refuses new deposits until the period resets.
Time-out or self-exclusion: play is blocked until the period ends, by design.
Source-of-funds or affordability check: some features pause until you supply documents.
If any of these apply, no amount of reinstalling will help. Our Ladbrokes app login problems page explains each account state and how it ends.
Maintenance and wider Ladbrokes outages
Occasionally the problem is on Ladbrokes’ side. Planned maintenance is usually short and scheduled for quieter hours; unplanned outages tend to hit the app and website together. A website that fails in two different browsers and on two networks points strongly to an outage.
Ladbrokes and Coral are both run by LC International Limited within Entain, so if both brands fail at the same moment, a shared platform issue is a reasonable guess. There’s nothing to fix on your phone in that case; wait and try again later rather than reinstalling.
Lag, heat and battery drain
Slow animations or a hot phone are performance issues rather than outright failure. Live dealer streams and graphics-heavy slots push older processors hard. Close other apps, lower screen brightness, disable Low Power Mode or battery savers while playing (they throttle performance), and keep at least a few gigabytes of storage free so the phone has room to cache.
Remember that UK rules require at least 2.5 seconds per slot spin and ban turbo modes, so a spin that feels slow may simply be the legal minimum. See do casino apps drain battery.
When to contact Ladbrokes support, and what to send
Contact support when the website works but the app still fails after updating and reinstalling, when a game stays broken, when money is missing after a frozen game, or when an account message isn’t clear. Ladbrokes lists support@ladbrokes.com for email, and third-party reviews report 24/7 live chat.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the Ladbrokes app not working today?
The quickest way to find out is to open the Ladbrokes website in your phone’s browser. If the website works, the issue is the app or your phone, so update the app, restart the phone or reinstall. When the website fails on two networks, Ladbrokes is probably having an outage or maintenance, and waiting is the only fix. If the site loads but won’t let you play, your account may need verification. Our casino app not loading guide explains each possibility.
Why does the Ladbrokes app keep crashing?
Repeated crashes are usually caused by an out-of-date app, phone software that’s too old, or corrupted cached data. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play and check that your iPhone runs iOS 18.0 or later, which the current listing requires. On Android, clear the app’s cache in Settings; on iPhone, offload and reinstall it. Low storage can also cause crashes, so keep some space free. Your account and balance aren’t affected by reinstalling. See casino app keeps crashing for more.
What happens if a Ladbrokes slot freezes mid-spin?
The result of a spin is determined on the game server, not your phone, so the outcome is recorded even if the screen freezes. Close the app, reconnect, and reopen the same game; most slots show the completed spin or credit the win to your balance. You can also check your account history. If the balance looks wrong afterwards, contact Ladbrokes support with the game name, time and stake. Our explainer on RNG describes how outcomes are generated independently of your device.
Why are Ladbrokes slots spinning so slowly?
Partly by law. Since October 2021, UK slots must take at least 2.5 seconds per spin, with no turbo or quick-spin options and no autoplay, so a spin will never be instant. If spins are noticeably slower than that, the cause is usually a weak connection, an older phone struggling with graphics, or battery-saving modes throttling performance. Turn off Low Power Mode, close background apps and move to a stronger signal. Our UK casino app rules page explains the design rules.
Does the Ladbrokes app work on older iPhones?
Only if they can run iOS 18.0 or later, which the App Store listing requires. That covers the iPhone XS, XR and every newer model. Older phones such as the iPhone X or iPhone 8 can’t install the current version, though they may keep an older copy that eventually stops connecting. On those phones, use the Ladbrokes mobile website in Safari, which uses the same account and balance. Our iPhone SE casino apps page covers smaller and older handsets in more detail.
Can a VPN stop the Ladbrokes app working?
Yes. A VPN or similar privacy relay can make your phone appear to be in another country, which may cause the app to refuse to load, block login or trigger security checks. Using one to get around location rules can also breach the terms and lead to account restrictions. Turn the VPN off in your phone’s settings before opening Ladbrokes, then fully close and reopen the app. Our VPN glossary entry explains how VPNs work and why casino apps react to them.
Why can I open the Ladbrokes app but not play or deposit?
This almost always means your account is restricted rather than the app being broken. Ladbrokes’ help centre says you can’t deposit, bet or access any gambling products, including free games, until your identity is verified. A deposit limit you’ve reached, a time-out or a pending source-of-funds check can produce similar blocks. Check your messages in the app for a document request, then upload what’s needed. Ladbrokes aims to review documents within 36 hours. See our Ladbrokes app verification page.
How do I report a problem with the Ladbrokes app?
Contact Ladbrokes support through live chat in the app or by email at support@ladbrokes.com. Include your phone model, operating system version, app version, the time of the problem and a screenshot of any error. For a game issue, give the game name and your stake. That information helps the support team pass the case to the right technical team. If a complaint isn’t resolved, you can escalate it through Ladbrokes’ complaints process. Our casino apps with live chat page compares support options.
Does the Ladbrokes app drain my battery?
Any casino app with animated slots or live video uses more battery than a typical app, and live dealer streams are the most demanding because they decode video continuously. Lowering screen brightness, closing other apps and using Wi-Fi rather than a weak mobile signal all help. Avoid playing while the phone is charging and hot. If you notice long sessions draining your battery, that may also be a cue to take a break. Our casino app data usage page includes battery tips.
