Esqueleto Explosivo app play means opening Thunderkick’s skeleton-band slot inside a licensed UK casino app; there’s no standalone real-money download. It has no free spins: instead, winning skulls drop away, new ones fall in, and a multiplier doubles with every win in the chain up to 32x. It’s low volatility with a 700x cap, which shapes how a session feels on your phone.
You play it inside UK casino apps rather than through its own app.
Winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in, so one paid spin can produce a chain of wins.
The Mucho Multiplier doubles with each win in a chain: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
Explosivo wilds blow up nearby symbols and push the multiplier up a step.
Low volatility and a 700x maximum make for steadier, smaller results than most modern slots.

Esqueleto Explosivo app: what it is and who makes it
Thunderkick, an independent studio founded in Stockholm in 2012, made Esqueleto Explosivo its signature game and later built a series around it. The studio holds its own Gambling Commission accounts and supplies its games to licensed casinos rather than releasing apps. To play, install a UK casino app that carries Thunderkick games, sign in, search the title and play from your balance. More of the studio’s games are on our Thunderkick mobile slots page.
The theme is a Day of the Dead mariachi band of skulls, each a different colour and value. Thunderkick’s art style is cartoon-like but clearly aimed at adults, and the soundtrack plays along as skulls explode. If you’d rather play quietly on the bus, mute the game from its menu or use your phone’s silent switch; our sound and vibration settings guide explains how.
How Esqueleto Explosivo looks on a phone
Thunderkick builds its games with clean layouts, and Esqueleto Explosivo works well upright. The five reels sit centrally, with the Mucho Multiplier steps shown on screen so you can see which step the chain has reached. Because symbols drop rather than spin, you’ll see them fall from the top of the screen, which is easy to follow even on a small phone.
Landscape gives the band and background more room but doesn’t add anything you need. For most players, portrait is the natural choice, leaving the spin button under your thumb. If the game looks cramped on a compact handset, our small screen phones guide covers display settings that help.
How to play Esqueleto Explosivo in a casino app
Log in to your casino app and search for “Esqueleto Explosivo”. Choose the original if the sequel also appears.
Open the game and tap the menu or paytable to check the RTP and symbol values.
Set your total stake with the bet control; all 17 paylines are always active.
Tap spin. The skulls drop in, any wins are paid, and the winning skulls are removed.
Watch new skulls fall into the gaps; any new win continues the chain and raises the multiplier.
When no new win forms, the chain ends and the multiplier returns to 1x.
The entire chain belongs to one paid spin. Under UK rules a spin must take at least 2.5 seconds, but a long chain simply takes longer to play out; you don’t pay again for each drop. Our cascading reels glossary entry explains the mechanic in other games too.
Esqueleto Explosivo features: drops, Explosivo wild and Mucho Multiplier
Dropping skulls
Instead of spinning, the reels are filled by skulls falling into place. After a win, the winning skulls disappear and the skulls above fall down, with new ones dropping in from the top. Every new win removes more skulls and keeps the chain going.
Explosivo wild
The Explosivo wild substitutes for the regular skulls. When it lands it explodes, destroying the symbols around it, and pushes the multiplier up a step. The gap left behind is filled by new skulls, giving another chance at a win in the same chain.
Mucho Multiplier
Each consecutive win in a chain moves the multiplier up a step, doubling each time until it reaches 32x. It resets when the chain ends. The early steps are common; reaching 16x or 32x needs a long run of linked wins and is much rarer.

The table is an illustration only; real chains are random and most end within a step or two. There are no free spins and no separate bonus round, so everything happens inside these chains.
Esqueleto Explosivo RTP, volatility and the 700x cap
The published RTP is 96.0%, though casinos may run alternative versions. Volatility is low: wins land often and are mostly small, and the 700x cap limits how large any single paid spin can be. At a 50p stake the most one spin and its chain can pay is £350; at £2 it is £1,400.

Low volatility suits players who prefer longer sessions with frequent small returns over the chance of a very large one. It doesn’t remove the house edge: the average cost per spin is the same idea as on any slot, and losses are likely over time. Our volatility glossary entry sets out what you gain and give up.
UK rules that apply to Esqueleto Explosivo
Maximum stake of £5 per spin for over-25s and £2 per spin for 18–24-year-olds.
No autoplay or turbo; every spin needs a tap and lasts at least 2.5 seconds.
Wins smaller than your stake aren’t celebrated as wins, which matters on a game with many small returns.
Balance and net result remain on screen the whole time.
Demo versions only after age verification.
The rule on not celebrating returns below your stake is especially relevant here: on a low-volatility game, many “wins” return less than you paid for the spin. Our UK slot design rules on mobile guide explains how this is displayed.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an Esqueleto Explosivo app?
There’s no standalone real-money app for Esqueleto Explosivo. Thunderkick supplies the game to licensed casinos, and you play it inside their apps from the App Store or Google Play. Install a licensed casino app, log in and search the title. Any app claiming to offer real-money Esqueleto Explosivo on its own should be checked carefully. Our how to spot fake casino apps guide explains what to look for.
What is the RTP of Esqueleto Explosivo?
The published RTP is 96.0%. That means about £96 is returned for every £100 staked over a very large number of spins, with the remainder kept by the casino. Casinos may run alternative versions, so check the paytable or rules screen in your app. Because volatility is low, sessions tend to stay closer to the average than on high-volatility games, but nothing is certain. Our house edge entry explains the relationship.
How does the Mucho Multiplier work?
The Mucho Multiplier starts at 1x and moves up a step with each consecutive win in a chain: 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x. Explosivo wilds also push it up a step. When a drop produces no new win, the chain ends and the multiplier returns to 1x for your next paid spin. Reaching the top steps needs a long chain and is rare. Our multiplier glossary entry explains different types of multiplier.
Does Esqueleto Explosivo have free spins?
No. The original Esqueleto Explosivo has no free spins round, scatter-triggered bonus or separate feature game. All the action happens through dropping symbols, Explosivo wilds and the Mucho Multiplier within each paid spin. If you see free spins advertised with the game, they’re a casino promotion with its own terms. Our free spins glossary entry explains the difference between in-game rounds and promotional spins.
What is the max win on Esqueleto Explosivo?
The maximum win is 700 times your stake per paid spin, including every drop in the chain. At a 20p stake that’s £140, and at £5 (the cap for players aged 25 and over) it’s £3,500. That’s modest compared with many modern slots, but it reflects the game’s low volatility. Our max win glossary entry explains how maximum wins relate to volatility and why caps exist.
Is Esqueleto Explosivo good for beginners?
Its simple rules and low volatility make it easy to follow: there’s no bonus round to learn, all lines are fixed, and wins come often. That doesn’t make it cheaper over time, as the RTP and house edge still apply. Start with a small stake, set a deposit limit and keep an eye on your net position. Our casino apps for beginners guide covers the basics of playing safely on a phone.
Why do some Esqueleto Explosivo wins not show a celebration?
Since October 2021, UK rules ban slots from celebrating returns that are smaller than your stake. On a low-volatility game like this, many wins return less than you paid, so they appear without fanfare. That’s intentional and helps you see your real position. Your net position is shown on screen throughout. Our net position display glossary entry explains what the figure shows and why it’s there.
How many paylines does Esqueleto Explosivo have?
Esqueleto Explosivo has 17 fixed paylines, all active on every spin, so you only choose your total stake. Wins pay when matching skulls land on a line from the left. Because winning skulls drop away and are replaced, the same 17 lines can pay several times in one chain. Every line shape is drawn in the in-game paytable. Our paylines glossary entry covers fixed and adjustable lines.
Is there an Esqueleto Explosivo 2?
Yes, Thunderkick released a sequel with 99 ways to win, medium volatility and a higher cap of 5,000x the stake, compared with 700x here. It keeps the skeleton band theme and dropping symbols but changes the maths significantly. Both may appear in your app’s search, so check the title before you stake. Our Thunderkick mobile slots page covers the studio’s catalogue.
Can I play Esqueleto Explosivo for free?
Some UK casino apps offer a demo once you’ve registered and verified your age, as required since 2019. Practice credits can’t be cashed out. A demo is a good way to see how chains and the multiplier work before staking. If the demo option is greyed out, finish verification first. Our free slots apps page explains how demo play works in UK apps.
